Just back from a FABULOUS trip! Got there to enjoy part of 24 hour day, stayed though the following Saturday, able to ride every ride in every park, many multiple times! Will shoot for a more detailed report, but here are some of the teasers—

DS proposed to his fiancé in the center of Main Street just before Wishes (she said yes)

New steak and shrimp dish at Yak and Yeti

Star Wars Firework Show

Watching my 26yo DS nearly fall out of his chair laughing at the Frozen Sing A Long

A visit to both the new Boathouse and Harambe Market

Waterparks every day but one!

Split stay between Cabins and POP

New foods, new experiences, great cast members, always fun!

And a nod to new favorite guide LJ on Kilimanjaro Safaris!

Kwaharini, y’all!

Oo what a great week indeed! We had a great weekend as well. LOVE the proposal, how special! Agree about SWW fireworks, literally blow you away. I enjoy them every night they are on, whether from home or at the parks. They are huge. I'm glad your son liked Singalong! I wonder if I can drag DH to it. He would hate the songs (sorry, just true) but laugh at the comedians, so I'm trying to twist his arm one of these days. A research CM says that some of them came from our beloved departed Comedy Warehouse! I'm trying to figure out the water parks every day, that sounds rockin!

Our memorial weekend started with Thursday DTD AMC premiere of Tomorrowland (I had a PIN!!!!) and they gave out replica tickets from the original opening in the 60s. Friday night we just decided to go to EP after work and had a stunning night, super fun and relaxed. DH likes the grapefruit and brauts at Germany. Sat was our first official SWW ever and it was Mem Day weekend too! We had a great time, but it was only half a day (as planned.) Sunday we chilled in the pool with friends and I almost lost ALL of my Rapunzel hair to the pool since it wasn't braided! (PLEASE my long haired ladies, do not make the same mistake! If you don't have it braided back, be sure to use a great leave in conditioner first. It took me the better part of a week, I finally went to a salon and they were able to save it, although I lost about 5 inches but at least I didn't lose it all!) and then Mon was Adventure Island in Tampa AND Magic Kingdom evening, we scored 7D FPs! Other than dealing with my horrible dread locked hair all week, it was one of the funnest weekends ever!

Serious girls. Don't let the pool take your hair. The incredible salon I went to said it happens all the time, and they can't always save it. If you think leaving your hair in a bun and swimming all week without shampooing or conditioning will work because you are lazy and on vacation, just be prepared to come home with the back of your hair shaved off. True! Ok :offtopic: Sorry!

You lost your hair? I'm trying to figure out what you mean. Is it that you had tried to forego shampooing and conditioning your hair (with pool chlorine thrown in for good measure) for the whole week and ended up with massive tangles?

My DD has tried this a few times since she got old enough for me to leave her hair care in her hands - when I find a tangled nest in the back of her head, she endures a long lecture and I save what I can, and snip off the rest!

Glad you both had an awesome trip!

I had to have about 5 inches cut off, and they worked the rest out. It was 50/50 because it was knotted so badly into dreadlocks, and I couldn't get it out, I would have had to cut it off but the salon was very motivated, patient and successful!

How was the Boathouse? Worth the price?

We thought so. Food was very good, I had the stuffed Lobster, and DH had scallops with jalapeno cheese grits. The menu is very good, lots of things I'd like to try. Our server was Robyn, very knowledgeable and helpful, the restaurant itself is beautiful, each room different. Never had to wait for our glasses to be filled, and when we split dessert, the extra spoons arrived from two servers at the same time. All about the guest experience!
