We didn't eat anywhere fancy, but all of the dining reviews helped me A LOT in our trip planning so I thought I better return the favor ;)

Day 1 - Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood & Vine: We had PS's for 6:00 at H&V so we knew it was gonna be busy at that time. We were seated within 15 minutes of our PS...I was happy about that. Our server was wonderful!! He made sure we always had refills and the plates were cleared off the table. The buffet was excellent!!! Our favorites were...a seafood pasta type dish and prime rib. Hubby loved the grilled salmon. The kids loved the kids buffet. And oh..the dessert bar...oh my. Everything was soooo yummmy! We give this an A+ and will definitely eat there again next time.

Day 2 - Cape May Cafe Breakfast: Well let's just say this one started off kinda rocky. We had PS's for 10:00am. We didn't get seated until 10:45!!! Needless to say, I was not very happy. We were all starving by this time and the kids were getting very restless. Once we were seated, things started looking up. We did this breakfast for my daughter who wanted a Minnie Mouse character meal. Minnie was in the lobby with her beach clothes on for pictures. She didn't come around to the tables, but the kids were ok with that. They were just happy to see her in the lobby. The food at the buffet was sooooo good!! Our favorites were the Mickey waffles (of course), the sausage, the egg & cheese omelet, and the fruit was OUTSTANDING! We ate sooo much and it was all soooo good. Our server was excellent. She kept our juice glasses full and our table cleared. The character interaction was wonderful. All the characters came by several times and really took their time to "play" with the kids. Giving this one an A+ too and we will most definitely do this breakfast again.

Day 2 continued - Ice Cream Social @ Garden Grill: We had 3:00 PS's for the ice cream social at the Garden Grill and for the Rehitchin' ceremony. We didn't get seated until 3:45! Grrrr, I was really starting to get tired of these long waits. Anyway, once seated our server was fantastic. He brought our ice cream right out and it was VERY YUMMY! The vanilla ice cream was some of the best I've ever had and the cookie..oh my..heavenly. Then he brought Chip and Dale by and we had our Rehitching ceremony and got our certificate. It was sooo much fun. I really recommend anyone with an anniversary to do this. It's really a sweet way to make your trip even more special. The characters were excellent here. It's really a very tasty and inexpensive way to dine with characters. Giving this one an A+ and can't wait to do it again next time.

Day 3 - Dinner at The Crystal Palace with Pooh and Friends: We had PS's for 4:00pm and we were seated by 4:05..YAY! Off to a great start! The restaurant is beautiful, you really feel like you're in a Victorian garden. Very light and airy, just beautiful. The characters started coming around immediately after we were seated. We didn't even make it up to the buffet before we saw Piglet and Tigger. The character interaction was fantastic. ALL the characters spent a lot of time at each table. They even had a "parade" for all the kids to get up and march around the restaurant with the characters. My son was thrilled! On to the food... Our family didn't find a lot that we would eat at this buffet, but what we did get was wonderful. Our favorites were the prime rib, roasted turkey, and the pasta dish. Actually, the chicken fingers from the kids' buffet were awesome! Now, let me say that if you like Spanish/Cuban/Mediterranean style food..there is lots to eat. It's just not our family's favorite. The dessert bar here was outstanding. They had cheesecake, flan, red velvet cake, chocolate cake, ice cream, creme brulee, cookies, etc. All of it was very yummy! We give this one an A and will most likely do it again.

Day 4 - Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney: This was our very first visit to a Rainforest Cafe. This restaurant is just beautiful inside. We sat right next to waterfall and an elephant behind us. I was in awe of the decor of this place. We ordered the Awesome Appetizer platter...it was, well, awesome! Then I had the crab cakes and Hubby a pasta dish with shrimp and chicken with a spicy sauce...hmm..can't remember what it's called. The kids had an icee with their meals that came in a souvenier cup with a little toy in the bottom. It was very cute and the kids loved it. Our waiter was fantastic. Very attentive and even offered to take a picture of all of us at our table. Dinner was a little of $100 with appetizer, dinners, and tip. Well worth it for the atmosphere and service. We would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Day 5 - The Earl of Sandwich in DTD: This was a spur of the moment meal. We were wandering around downtown later in the evening and decided we were hungry. The Earl of Sandwich was nearby, so we thought we'd give it a try. We ordered the Beef n' Blue sandwich and The All American. The kids shared a meatball sandwich. Hubby and I each got a half of the sandwiches and we LOVED both of them. They certainly don't skimp on the meat or toppings and the deli meats are very good. They taste like fresh sliced meats, not lunch meats you get at the deli at your grocery store. The bread is very tasty and fresh. The price was excellent at about $5.00 per sandwich. It was a beautiful night, so we ate outside at their covered patio. We will be visiting this place again in the future.

The rest of our stay we mostly did counter service. I have to point out Cosmic Ray's as an outstanding counter service restaurant choice located near Tomorrow Land. We ate here twice. The first time we ordered burgers and fries. The burgers were very tasty, not greasy at all. The toppings bar was loaded with lots of fresh and tasty toppings. They even have cheese sauce to dip your fries in...yummy yummy yummy! The next time we had the grilled chicken sandwiches and to be honest, they were a bit dry and tasteless. This place has something for everyone...salads, sandwiches, burgers, chicken. We will be visiting Cosmic Rays again.

This was our first real experience with Disney dining. Overall, I am sooooo very pleased with our meals. The food was soooo delicious and left quite an impression on us. The service that our wait staff provided was unlike anything we've ever experienced. Other than the wait times at some of our PS's, we didn't have a single complaint.

Sorry it's so long..sheesh...just realized I typed a book. tee hee

Wow! It sounds like you had some great dining experiences! I love Cape May Cafe! The character breakfast is a tradition for DH and I. We have also enjoyed our past meals at CP and H&V. I would like to try the ice cream social and Earl of Sandwich sometime. I keep hearing great things about both! Welcome back! I'm glad you had such a wonderful time!

I enjoyed reading your reviews. Glad you reviewed the Earl of Sandwich...sounds good..

Thanks for the TERRIFIC reviews! We have PS at many of the places in your review and we're SO excited now! We have PS at the Ice Cream Social and I'm thinking about doing the rehitching ceremony...its not our anniversary though, (our anniversary was in Dec. and we were in WDW but we didn't know about the rehitching ceremony:( )

Do you think they'll do it for us anyway? How was it though? Can you give me a little more info on it? THANKS!!!

Can't wait!!! :hug::teeth:

Aww..thanks everyone ;)

Queenie - You can absolutely do the Rehitching. They didn't ask when our anniversary was, it's not until June actually. But since we were there and our 10th anniversary was coming up, we wanted to do the rehitching ceremony. Just make sure to mention it when you make your PS's and again when you check in at the podium. We even reminded our server when he came to get our drink order. :)

About the ceremony itself, it's very cute and not at all embarrasing. I was kinda afraid that we would be in front of a lot of people in the restaurant :o. Not the case at all! The way the restaurant is done, the booth seating is in a large circle and the only people that see you are a handful seated around your booth. Your server has you stand up with your best man, ours was Chip or Dale..can't keep them straight..lol. Then he asks you to repeat the two words you said at your wedding, then you have to kiss to the count of 100. But luckily they count by tens..whew ;) Then he/she gives you your cute little certificate saying the you were rehitched and you sit down and enjoy your yummy ice cream. The whole "ceremony" only takes a few minutes. I am sooo happy we did this. Such a great memory for us to add to the many we have of Disney.

Hope that helps..if you have any other questions, just ask..I'll do my best to answer 'em for ya :D

GingerMommy94, I sent you a PM. Thanks!!!:teeth:

I really enjoyed reading your reviews, especially because a few of the restaurants are on our list to try this October. I am also planning on surprising my husband with a re-hitching ceremony at the Garden Grill ice cream social.:teeth:

Gingermommy94....how old are your kids?

Just curious b/c mine are 5 & 2 1/2 and I'm still wondering how they will be with sit-down meals this trip. On prior trips (last one was 2 years ago) my son was only 8 months & no problem as long as he could suck on a cookie or have a bottle - but my daughter was 2 1/2 and was a nightmare.

Needless to say, we don't eat out very much at home. Maybe we should start doing that before we go in Oct to get them used to it.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reviews. I am going to the Cape May Breakfast for the first time on my next trip. I am really excited about it now!  ::yes:: :wave2:

Thanx for the great reviews ~ I really enjoyed reading them.
