Wolfgang Puck Cafe -- We have lunch here on every trip because we really like it. We had the Spinach and Five Cheese Dip, which was really good. I had the smoked salmon pizza, DH had the pepperoni pizza. We split a chocolate souffle cake. It was all really good.
Dinner at Boma -- We've been here once before and both times we've had to wait over 30 minutes even with PS. Once you are finally seated, the food is good. I'm more of an adventurous eater and this was one of my favorite meals of the trip. DH is a picky eater and he ate mainly from the children's buffet here. He would not really want to go back, but I love it.
Donald's Breakfastasaurus -- We had the last seating (10 am) and had to wait 30 minutes or so after that, in the heat, to get in. We were so hot, we weren't that hungry. Food was okay; character interaction was good. Might have been better if we'd had one of the first seatings of the day, rather than the last.
Chef Mickey's for dinner -- We'd eaten breakfast here on a prior trip and loved it. We didn't really like dinner nearly as much. Food was okay; character interaction was good.
Boma for breakfast -- This was the best breakfast of the trip. We love the juice blend, I think it's called Frunch? Lots of selection on the buffet, although at this point we were getting sick of buffets. This is one we would return to -- it's good.
Rose and Crown for Lunch -- We were so happy to be eating a non-buffet meal we probably would have been happy with anything they served, but we really enjoyed this meal. All of the CMs here were so nice and friendly. DH had the fish and chips, as did our one year old. I had a salad and a mushroom medley appetizer; our son had a cheese pizza. I liked that the kids' meals came with peas or grapes as most kids' meals don't have veggies.
Alfredo di Roma -- I was wary of eating dinner here after reading bad reviews on this board, but we were hungry and DH wanted to try it. I am so glad we went -- it was one of the best meals of our trip! The servers are pretentious and the rolls are hard as rocks -- even my bread-loving three year old didn't eat them. However, the Fettucine Alfredo was the best I've ever had -- they don't use cream, just butter and real parmesan cheese, and it has so much flavor! DH loved the lasagna and our three year old ate all of his Italian Chicken Nuggets, and he rarely cleans his plate. I was almost too embarrassed to post that we actually liked this place, but when I got home I saw my new All Ears newsletter also gave it a rave review, so maybe there has been a change in the kitchen? It is expensive, but it seems like all food at Disney is. We would definitely eat here again.
Grand Floridian Cafe -- We'd eaten here on a prior trip and liked it. DH loved his Philly Cheese Steak sandwich; kids liked the pizza breadsticks and chicken tenders. I got the veggie burger, which I thought was mushy and gross. I would eat here again but would not get the veggie burger.
Concourse Steakhouse -- I'd had an early PS for California Grill but had to cancel it because we stayed too late at the pool. This was the only place we could find with availability. DH loved his steak, son liked the pb&j on colored bread. I had a seafood bisque, which was delicious, salad and crabcakes. I wouldn't get the crabcakes again. Our son enjoyed watching the monorails, but couldn't understand why the characters at Chef Mickey's next to the restaurant weren't coming to his table too.
Crystal Palace -- We were able to eat lunch here without a prior PS. Went at 11:30 when they opened and they gave us a PS for 12, and then seated us at 11:35. I didn't expect much from the food, and we weren't looking forward to another buffet meal, but our son wanted to see characters and we were too hot and tired to stand in line at Mickey's house so we went here. The food was surprisingly good! It was probably the best food of all the character meals we did -- the buffet had graham crackers, colored bread and pb&j for the kids (and of course chicken nuggets) and interesting things for the adults, like adobe chili rubbed salmon. Saw each of the four characters once. We would eat here again; much better than we expected.
Ohana -- We did the character breakfast. I liked having the food on the table -- with two small children, it's a lot easier than running back and forth to the buffet with everyone's plates. DH thought the food tasted just like the buffet breakfasts though. Goofy drew a nice picture of himself in our son's autograph book.
San Angel Inn -- DH wanted Mexican so we went here. Had the Nachos which were good. DH had the Plato Mexicano -- he really liked it. I got shrimp over angel hair pasta, which seemed weird for a Mexican restaurant but nothing else appealed to me. I didn't really like it, and I wouldn't eat here again, although the cast members here were so nice and helpful.
I'd be happy to answer any questions!
