Just back from a WONDERFUL week at WDW. Since I went with a friend and left my husband at home (hes going on two Nascar guy trips this year so I got a spring break trip to WDW) we ate budget style. I have a DDE and saved over $20 (mostly at the POP food court.)
POP Food Court - We ate breakfast here almost everyday. It was busy but not packed (we always found a seat easily). The food was okay, nothing special but not bad. Breakfast usually consisted of bagels, juice, fruit and yogurt. The cost was usually between $10-$15 for two people.
Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station - We ate a very early lunch here because we skipped breakfast. We both ordered the chicken noodle (stir fry) kids meal . This was the most disappointing meal of the trip. We were the first order of the day and the meals were cold and very greasy.
Whispering Canyon Café - We both ordered the Little Nutty Chicken Salad and a side of cornbread. The salad was HUGE and yummy! The restaurant was about half full but the waiters were very mellow (the restaurant was actually quiet.) Im use to eating dinner here and it was almost too quiet for me.
Earl of Sandwich - we arrived after Cirque and the line was out the door. My friend and I decided to split the Caprese and All American. Both were wonderful!! Two sandwiches, two drinks, a bag of chips and fruit salad was less than $20!! This will now be on my must eat at restaurant list!
Restaurantosaurus - we each had a cheeseburger meal. I loved the topping bar (it made my meal healthy J) and being able to use my DDE card.
Wolfgang Puck Express - Yummy as usual. I ordered my usual (4 cheese pizza) and my friend had the Chinois Chicken salad. She devoured the salad but I thought it was quite spicy. I like eating here because it is a step up from counter service but not as expensive as a sit down meal.
Brown Derby - I made a PS for the latest lunch slot possible. We ended up waiting longer than expected at Tower of Terror and were 3 minutes late (according to their clock.) We were told lunch was over but we were welcome to order from the dinner menu. I was not about to eat a big meal in the middle of the afternoon and was not willing to pay dinner prices for being 3 minutes late so we left. Make sure if you have a late PS from lunch that you arrive early. We learned our lesson the hard way.
Backlot Express - so after the Brown Derby episode we ended up here. I am not a big fan of counter service at MGM but enjoyed the kids chilled chicken meal with veggies and dip (although Im not sure how many kids would enjoy this meal) . My friend ordered the chicken nuggets meal and thought the French fries were the best in all of WDW.
Cantina de San Angel - dinner consisted of nachos, chips and cheese and margaritas. It is my must - do EPCOT meal.
Chef de France - I ordered the French menu while my friend ordered the chicken crepe. The meal was a great deal but too much food for me. My friend ordered the chocolate mouse with chocolate ice cream for dessert and it was to die for. It was the most rich dessert I have ever had. I would go back just for the desserts.
Columbia Harbour House - I ordered a half of a tuna sandwich and clam chowder while my friend ordered the Starboard deck sandwich. This was the best counter service meal of the trip and we enjoyed eating upstairs in peace and quiet (the MK was a zoo that night.)
Snacks -
Dole Whip - I finally tried a pineapple float and it was WONDERFUL. I will definitely get one (or more) every time I visit the MK.
Kringla Bakeri og Café - my friends mother told us we HAD to stop here for snacks. I ordered the school bread and kringle with almonds. Both we incredible. I HIGHLY recommend stopping there. In fact, the pastries were so good I am trying to convince DH to take a trip to Norway so I can eat Norwegian food everyday.

We are trying Brown Derby for the first time, as well, but have a dinner time so thankfully no risk in being late!
