Hi! We just returned this morning. Our party consisted of 9 people with 2 in ECV's. We didn't have any problems with the buses. :goodvibes

So good to know!!! Thanks! Arriving on the 13th in our own van, but usually use the bus system.....it's the first thrilling "ride" of the day for my homeschooled children!!!

Thanks for the update! I was a little nervous a few months ago.

We just got back a few weeks ago, and I have to say, the buses were awesome! No problems what so ever!

I have to admit I was really nervous. I told my MIL that we would give the buses a try, but to be prepared to drive to the parks. The drivers were so friendly and fast. We never had to wait for a 2nd bus. Waiting guests were patient as well except for one incident at HS on our last night. I just let it slide.

Which resort(s) did you stay at? It has been our experience that some resorts do a lot better with access than others, which is interesting since the same drivers serve all over WDW. Wow, and 2 ECVs usually presents something of a challenge to drivers, since that fills up the accessible spots on the bus.

Then again, we have usually had very good luck with Disney transportation. Then again, we've only got the one wheelchair to deal with and our very handsome little boy in it.

So more details, please. Glad the trip worked well!

We stayed at AKV for 3 nights and VWL for 1 night.

So glad to hear that others had good experiences with the buses. We, however, did not--although we only took the bus one time (then opted for driving or using alternate transportation options for the remainder of the week).

Just returned from a trip to WDW the first week of December, with my Dad using an ECV & wheelchair. Our arrival day, the EPCOT monorail was down for a while, so we were directed to wait for an EPCOT bus from the TTC. There was a bus loading in the station when we got there, but could not board that one as there were already three ECVs/wheelcahirs ahead of us in line. Waited c. an hour for the next EPCOT bus to finally arrive. The driver was very kind and patiently loaded my Father in his ECV, then helped him transfer into a regular seat. We had no issues with the CMs. Our problem was with the rude, 'able bodied' guests! There was definite, audible grumbling about having to wait while the ECV was loaded first. Then an extremely rude and senseless woman allowed her kids to sit on and climb all over my Dad's ECV while in transit, even allowing them to handle and mess with his personal belongings that were in the basket. When I said something to her about how innapropriate and unsafe this was (the driver had not secured the ECV to accomidate a passenger during transit, since my Dad was able to transfer to a seat)... she argued back that it was not safe for her kids to have to stand on a moving bus, and she was not going to remove them from the ECV no matter what. My feeling was that it was her personal responsibility to choose whether or not to knowingly board a 'standing room only' bus with her children, and there was no excuse for allowing them to ride on & abuse my Father's personal property. If she felt it was an unsafe situation for them to stand, she could and should have simply waited for the next bus. Allowing them to sit on my Dad's ECV was not a reasonable option. I ended up throwing out the food items we had stored in the ECV's basket (my Mom is diabetic, and needs to keep snacks handy at all times, in case her blood sugar begins to drop), because the kids had handled it all with their grubby little fingers (and possibly sampled some too--I had heard the Mom telling them to put that food back where they found it). The experience really left us all with a bad feeling about using the buses.

Again, the bus issues we experienced were related more so to other (rude) guests, and did not involve the Disney CMs. But it is important to be prepared and know that these sorts of things do happen to some of us. We never experienced any issues when using the monorails or boats, where my Father was able to board easily and remain seated in his ECV/wheelchair. On numerous occassions we also had younger people get up and offer us seats on these other forms of transportation--so there are a lot of polite guests out there too.

:scared: That happened to my grandmother once -- we were on the bus back to the resort (ASMu) and a couple teens were in the two ECVs parked -- and got a little snarky when the users had to get off at their resorts (but... there were now empty seats...?) I can't say they went through the contents of the basket, though. That's just inexcusable. It's private property. :confused3 How would she have liked it if you went through her bags?

I'm sorry you had to encounter rude guests. No one likes that. But at least you had a good trip :thumbsup2 Woohoo!
