Just got back last night from a real last minute trip. My husband turned fifty this month and I got time off work, so I called last week and got a studio at SSR for three nights. We got flights on jetblue for 74.00 each way and we were off. We have never done the dining plan before so since the kids weren't with us for a change we went for it. Great food, we ate at Turf club, Kona Cafe and Cape May. I think 3 days was perfect for the dining plan, any longer and I would have gained alot of weight. We were at the resort by noon, thanks magical express, the bus was waiting there. Our room was ready and we were at the pool before 1:00. We rented bikes and rode all through the treehouse villas and down the path to Old Key West(hubby's favourite resort). It was a great break from the snow and we thoroughly enjoyed it.:cool1:

Wow, that's great! Great airfare too. We're in SW Ohio, and I don't think we'll ever see a $74 each way fare. I really like the dinner clambake at Cape May, is that the meal you had there? We also like the character breakfast, but I love the seafood offerings. Did they still have snow crab legs?

Sounds fantastic. How nice to have a quick trip to escape the cold and relax. Was it a no park trip? Glad to hear Turf Club was good. We're traveling to SSR for the first time this March and have reservations there our first night. May have to rent bikes with the kids. They would love to bike to OKW.:goodvibes

OP, so glad you could get a break from the cold. It sounds like you and your hubby had an ideal trip!!!

Bobbi, you noticed her airfare too! That's the first thing that jumped out at me... OP is in Ontario and get to Disney for $74.00 each way. Here we are way down south in Louisiana, and the cheapest we can get is $105 each way IF we purchase way in advance on Southwest! JetBlue flies out of New Orleans (about an hour south of us), but not between N.O. and Orlando.

It was a great trip, and we enjoyed our meal at cape may, it was the clam bake dinner buffet. We live in southern Ontario but we flew jetblue out of Buffalo, it is well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive (Canadian airlines prices are
crazy).

We enjoyed relaxing and touring the resorts. We did alot of walking and just hanging by the pool, no parks this time and I really didn't miss them on such a short trip. The bike ride to OKW is not very long and I am sure your kids would like it, you could even stop for a quick swim if it is warm.

That sounds so awesome -- and at the last minute, too!!

My DH and I were just talking about how much fun a "no kids" trip would be.
