Just got back form our mid-January trip. Love the slow season!

The Bad - refurbs: no splash mt., castle moat empty for some time (refilled by last Friday), numerous other walls and construction areas. They obviously waited for after the high season to get to work. I really don't mind because we go so often. CM's: while I didn't notice any rude or miserable cm's like many others have, but I did notice many not creating the magic as they are known for. It seemed that the older CM's (50+) are the ones who talk, laugh, and joke it up with you.

The Good - Doing what we wanted when we wanted. No tour plans, no ADR's. The lines were short, the crowds light. Did Buzz Lightyear 3 times in a row where all 3 of us had our own car since there was no one behind us. Went to Chef Mickeys one night without an ADR around 6pm and they told us up to an hour wait and it was literally 5 minutes till we were seated. Went to Ohana around 8:30 and they told us an hour and it was 15 minutes. Got seated at Chef de France at 1st seating with no problem. Love it. However, early September still beats January by a mile. Still and hour wait for TSM (FP's gone by 12) and 45+ for Soaring (which was a walk-on in early Sept afternoons) during the afternoons.

Numerous tour groups from South America but had absolutely no issues with them. All very calm and well mannered.

Just one funny note - who would buy their kid sneakers that squeak with each step??????? We got stuck walking through SFR tree house with the "sqeaky" kid behind us! After we got off we waited to see what direction they were going and went the other way!

Sounds like you had a great trip. We went end of August early September last year and were amazed by the lack of people. We rode Goofy's Barnstormer 3 times in a row without even getting off.
Were the crowd levels lower than September crowds? I can't even imagine!

I'm going to move this to our trip report board.
