just returned from eight days at the world...crowds were very heavy but managable if you knew what you were doin'....
i'll post a trip report to the correct forum later but wanted to drop in and see if anyone had any questions...
what we did:
- visited all four parks
- candlelight processional
- nye at mgm
- ate at chef mickeys, donalds breakfastsaurus (sp?), 1900 park fare, mexico for cp package, hollywood & vine and sci-fi dine inn and bomas

what we learned:
- we will never take anyone with us again...really cramped our style and were really a pain in the a**...actually had secuity call our room at akl because of one of the guests we had with us...how embarssing  ...i'll explain this in detail in our trip report...be sure to catch it...
any questions???

Sounds like it's going to be an interesting trip report! Drama! Can't wait to read it!:teeth:

I can't wait to hear about security!!! Hope you managed to have fun anyway!!!

How bad were the crowds on NYE?

drama...that is a good way to looking at it...
the crowds on nye were pretty big...we have been to the world on thanksgiving and july 4th and this is the biggest that we have ever seen the crowds...wait times for things like TT and RNR were several hours...
i'll post a link here when i get the trip report written...

We were there too! We skipped the parks on NYE and went to
Downtown Disney until about 6pm when it started getting busy.
We arrived before rope drop every other morning and left the
parks b4 fireworks. I hate big crowds! New Years Day at MK was
quite crowded after 12n - 8 to noon was ok. We did fastpass in
commando fashion at all parks and got to do all the good rides at least once with few waits over 20 minutes. Did RNRC 3x, SpcMtn 2x, Buzz 2x, Splash 2X, TOT 2x. Found Disney lacking in crowd control at Haunted Mansion-actually felt in danger inside the mansion because the crowd was crushing - we had FP but they had abandoned any special route for it. That ride is in bad need of update anyway IMHO, special effects are sophmoric but yes- I know- it's traditional. With the new movie, seems like they could have spiffed it up a bit. Mickey's Philharmagic was also
a crowd control problem. WITH fastpass we were in another crushing crowd waiting to get into the seating and that show it
pretty short if ya ask me-but good.

Same here. We were there December 25th - 31st, but experienced the worst crowds the 30th when we had to make trip to Epcot about noon to see a ride that had broken down earlier in the trip.
We had a lot of trouble getting water from the fountains and a chance to use the bathrooms because of the lines - it was pretty intense.
I can't wait to hear your trip report and agree about having others join you at Disney. It seems like a good idea and maybe sometimes it is, but it can add to the stress level, that's for sure.
