We got home yesterday afternoon. I can't believe it's over already! We had a wonderful time and I will post a trip report soon. Just a couple of comments:

1) REAS package was terrific. We had no problems with any of the reservations. The gift basket was very nice. The only regret was getting the spa taster instead of full massage. Oh well. The breakfast in bed was great, we did that on Castaway Cay day. Our 6 yr old DS thought the romantic turndown was really cool! Sadly it was on our last night so I was too busy packing to enjoy it.
2) Servers make such a difference! On our first cruise we enjoyed the servers but didn't have anything to compare them with. Now we do. The servers on this cruise were not nearly as enjoyable. The assistant server was actually better than the server. He was friendly and would talk to us. The server was very business like and tried to be helpful but paced as he was talking and basically just spewed the information we could get from the navigator. DS did not like him which made the dinners uncomfortable and difficult.
3) Cabin noise. We had some strange vibration noises in our cabin. The 1st night we figured it was just the ship but they were annoying. DH mentioned it to the Hotel Director and he was very quick to have someone call us about it. However, it's like one of those car noises, the noise never happens when they are there to fix it. We finally got a call for Guest Services saying the engineer had been to the room and said it was just normal ship noises due to the rough seas - the seas were as calm as could be. We were finally able to get someone in the room while the noise was happening (last day on the ship), he said it was the air conditioning fan and replaced it. That night the noise was worse than ever, DH was up at 3:00 and it woke me up at 4:00. Hope they can fix it for the next family.
4) Thunderstorms at Castaway Cay. Sadly we only had about 90 minutes of sun before the storms came. It poured for about 30 minutes and never really cleared up after that. We went back to the ship around 2. As we were preparing to leave the Capt announced his disappointment in the weather and said they had considered coming back the next day but the forecast was worse for the next day. He promised to try and find us some sun for our day at sea - he delivered! Very sunny and hot day at sea.
5) Wonder is definitly ready for dry dock. She is a beautiful ship but is in need of some new carpet, etc.

With all this said, we did have a great time. The food was outstanding and ds really enjoyed the club. We will be sailing again in 2 years, no date yet because they aren't released.

What cabin were you in? We leave tomorrow for our day before boarding trip. We board the Wonder on sunday. Just wanted to make sure the noisy room is not ours.

Thanks. We are on deck 6 but on the other side. Maybe quieter.

Who were your servers? I am wondering because we sailed in May of this year on the Wonder and you described our server (and assistant) to a tee! Our server's name was Egi and sadly I could never remember the ast servers name - he was so great with my dd4 - magic tricks and a beautiful smile...but Egi - we cold have lived without

Glad you had a great time - sorry about the noise. That would have drivin me crazy! Also glad you had at least a little sun before the rain came at Castaway Cay ;)

The server's name was Rajin (not sure on the spelling) and the asst was Fabio.

Our server at Palo was Serena and she was terrific!!

Thanks for the report! I noticed the carpets, too. Can you imagine what a job it will be to replace those?! It is a great ship!
:earsgirl:

Thanks for sharing.

My son and I are taking our first cruise in April. I'm a single parent who never has time to pamper myself. I was thinking for booking the REAS package as a way of spoiling myself during the cruise. :Pinkbounc :bounce: Were you able to book your Palo reservation in advance? I think I read that this was only an option for the 7 day cruises.

This cruise was booked through Dreams Unlimited and they took care of all the reservations for REAS. The massage and Palo was reserved months before we left. It was great!

We are going on a 4 day next June. What night did you do Palo? We have early seating and are trying to figure out which dining rotation and night we would like to go to Palo. We are traveling with another family who has never been on a Disney cruise and would hate for them to miss anything.

We ate at Palo on the last night. For us it was a repeat of Animators Palate. By going on the last night you don't miss any of the other restaurants.

I like the sounds of Palo on the last night, but then when did you schedule the turn down and the breakfast for? I thought they were all done the same night/following morning?Sorry for all the questions, just planning WAY ahead. LOL :hyper:

The turndown is automatically done the night you go to Palo. The breakfast can be any day you want except the last. We did it the morning of Castaway Cay which worked really well for us.

Thanks Kelli for all your info, looks like I have some planning to do.

It seems most people like to rush off the ship when it gets to CC in order to get a prime beach spot. Did having your breakfast on CC day have an impact on your location on the beach?

Actually we decided to have the breakfast that day so it would be a little more relaxing. We could get ready while eating and we didn't have to look for a table or wait in any lines. We had already planned on being off the ship as soon as possible. We had a great location with a hammock but lost it when we had to evacuate the beach because of a thunderstorm. I was very disappointed to find someone had taken our spot when we returned, even though our floaties and towels were still there. That is my biggest complaint about this trip = many rude people. More at WDW then DCL but they were there too.
