Hi guys-
We just got back last night from a quick 4-night trip at WL. It was our 2nd stay at the resort (stayed at villas in November). I was thrilled to get a standard view room at an AP rate of $124. My only request was bunk beds, but I honestly didn't expect to get them. Well to my surprise, when we checked in the CM said that our room was not ready, but that we'd been upgraded to a "pool view" with bunk beds. I was thrilled with the bunk beds and really curious about what "pool view" would actually be. We waited until about 3:30 for our room to be ready. We were in room 1161, which is on the 1st floor, near the end of the wing on the villas side of the lodge. It was definitely "pool view!" Our patio was just a few feet from the pool deck, sort of behind a couple of small bushes. For the $124/night that I paid, I was pleased and couldn't have been happier with the bunk beds. However, if I had actually paid for Courtyard view, I would have been disappointed. I was worried that the room would be noisy, but fortunately, we didn't hear any pool noise when the door was closed. On another positive note, the room did have quick access to the pool and lake because it was very close to the door at the end of that wing. We had to keep the curtain closed most of the time for privacy and sitting on the patio was no different than sitting at the pool- so no quiet, peaceful retreat. Like I said, I was thrilled based on what I paid and expected. However, on future trips, if I ever decide to pay for courtyard view, I will be very specific about having a room on a high floor.
The boat transportation was great!! Even when we arrived as a boat was pulling out, another one was usually there in 5 minutes. Bus transportation was pretty typical. Sometimes we got lucky and it arrived quickly, other times we had to wait a while. We ate breakfast and lunch a couple of times at Roaring Fork and dinner at WCC one night. Both were great.
All in all, we had a great trip. We enjoyed our 2nd stay at WL and will likely return. If I can answer any questions, let me know.
