I have to give a big thank you to everyone here on the boards for their tips and ideas. At check-in I asked for an upgrade to concierge and got it for any extra $40/nt. Our room had a bunkbed, a must for my 6yo son. We also had a view of the Castle and fireworks. This was my first stay at WL, after staying at AKL last year. I really liked the feel of WL, but have to say that the bus service was terrible. Some people had an hour wait for MGM and I think we waited 30 minutes for DTD. Fortunately the boats were great!!! Several times we hopped on a Contemporary bus at a resort because they were there and would boat over to the WL. My DH and I both felt that Artist Point was overpriced for the food but the service was wonderful.

We stayed at WL for the first time this year (5/24-5/28). We're YC/BC fans and all I can say is I'm sticking with YC/BC and the Epcot Resort area.

We thought the transportation was horrible as well.

However, WL is very well themed. Wish the rooms were a bit bigger though.

Agree with your comments on Artist Pointe. It is pricey but DELICIOUS. We had great service there as well.

Glad I tried it...but YACHT CLUB - here I come.

We definitely took full advantage of the breakfast lay out. Mostly pastries (yum!), ceral, and of course, the coffee. Never really got to try out the lunch as we were usually at a park during that time. I would have to say my favorite was the drinks and desserts at night. The concierge staff were wonderful and helpful. They were able to get us a PS to Chef Mickeys on very short notice. Of course, now I'm spoiled and want to try the other concierges..lol

I just gpt back on the 11th of this month and I stayed concierge. The concierge there was just as nice as YC but I agree, nothing like Epcot resorts for for convience. :D

km2all,

Hi and welcome back! I'm just curious, was the concierge upgrade price from woods or courtyard view? Also, it sounds like you had a great view from your room, where was it located? Thanks!:D

It was an upgrade from a woods view. We were in room 7042, and yes it was a great view looking out. Just don't look down. We were over the electrical transformers and loading dock, fortunately we couldn't hear a thing with the door closed...haha

Is a refrigr. standard in the con. level rooms??

Refrigerators don't generally come with the concierge rooms at WL but you can request one and won't be charged for it because you are staying concierge.

They will usually bring it up right away and if you know you are staying concierge beforehand you can always request to have one in your room when you check in.

Wish I knew you were staying! I would have met up with you...as I work at Roaring Fork!

We'll be at WL in October and have booked a Woods View. Concierge sounds lovely. I'm wondering what times the concierge food service operates. We do EE nearly every day and I think that breakfast would be one of the most useful things with the concierge. However, if we're off to the parks before it starts, there isn't much use. (The evening cordials might make up for it . . .)

Can anyone help on that question? Thanks

We had a frig in our room without asking for one, so I assumed it can standard with the concierge.

Here are the times for the concierge food:

700-1000 Continental Breakfast
1130-300 Refreshments
300-430 Afternoon Tea
500-700 Wine and Cheese Selections
800-1000 Cordials and Desserts

Hope this helps.

Cathy:
We are checking in on the 7th. What was the food layout for the eveining?

When we were there in October they always had a hot soup or stew in the evening (5-7) and then a hot entree which was gourment mac n' cheese with pork or sausage with peppers and onions or rice with chicken and vegetables.

They also had cheese and crackers, marinated vegetables, pb and j roundwiches for the kids, etc.

At dessert and cordial time they sometimes had a hot cobbler and little personal size desserts-tarts, cookies, a cereal mix dipped in white chocolate, the peanut butter things dipped in chocolate-I forget what the name of them is.

Welcome Back!

Glad you had a great time and Congratulations on the wonderful upgrade for the nominal cost!

Melissa, I'm jealous!

We just returned from the WL and that is my most favorite resort. We didn't go a day without visiting the Roaring Forks at least 3 times. I told my husband that when we retire (years and years from now), my dream is to work at the WL so I can be there constantly! What an escape from the real world!

DeDee: Did you get the refillable mugs and did it pay off?

Yes, I did purchase the refillable mugs - 5 years ago!!

I guess you can say they have paid off since we bring them back again and again, year after year.
