We just returned saturday from staying in a 3 bedroom condo in Windsor Palms. What a beautiful place. Thanks to everyone here we had the vacation of a lifetime. I have mostly been a lurker, but found wonderful information here to plan our first Disney World trip. We rented the condo from www.vrbo.com and got a great deal of $400 ($488 with taxes) for 7 nights. Our condo was on the first floor just steps away from the clubhouse and pool. If anyone here is contemplating renting a villa for their vacation I would highly recomend it. Thanks again for all the useful tips!!!

cwell: Thank you for this info. I am considering Windsor Palms for an Oct trip...I was anxiously awaiting codes til I did the math and realized it wasn't going to help us as we wanted to do 5 days Disney and 2 Universal....anyhoo, I was considering Cypress Pointe (that just went up $3 a day on Hotel Kingdom) and Windsor Palms and Skyauction....

Thank you for this info! Did you have any trouble booking thru vrbo and was it hard to get this (incredible) rate? I've heard some great things about Windsor Palms...can you comment on the pools/slides which are of a big concern to my 8 yr old girl? How was the drive?

Thanks for any insight -- I've been awaiting someone who had just been down and had a price they could quote!!!!

Wow, that's a great deal! Can you give any information that would help me search on the site to get to the one you rented from since you had a good experience? I think there was a place to enter a vrbo #???? Thanks!

MollyBelle,

I would love to try and answer your questions.

Renting through the owner on vrbo was very simple and painless. I sent the owners a message asking about the dates I needed and a price quote. He got back to me the same day with a quote. I am sure the rates vary depending on the season though. I let him know I was interested and he emailed me the rental forms. I just had to print them, fill it out and mail it back to him and include a check for 1/3 of the total balance. The rest of the balance was due 30 days before our arrival date. 10 days before arrival the owner emailed directions to the condo and the code to get the keys. The whole process was very easy.

Our condo was the closest to the pool on the first floor. My daughter 8 and son 3 LOVED the pool. The pool does not have a water slide but it is nice and large. There were also other kids for mine to play with which they both enjoyed. My favorite was the big hottub and palm trees all around the pool. It was just beautiful. The clubhouse has a movie theater and gameroom with pool tables, ping pong and arcade games that we used on a rainy night. It was very nice. There is also tennis, basketball and sand volleyball courts that are fun to use. The rackets and balls can be rented for free from the clubhouse.

The drive to Disney was very quick and easy. We used the Sherbeth Rd shortcut and it was maybe a 5 minute drive to disney property. I am not sure how long the drive is to Universal because we didn't make it there. There are alot of shops and restraunts to choose from that are very close to Windsor Palms if you want to eat off site. I hope I was able to answer your questions. If you have any more just let me know.
I'll send you a PM with the condo we stayed in.

26555,

I PM'd you, hopefully it works. I don't recall there being a lake at Windsor Palms but maybe I'm wrong?

Cari

Thanks for the info. Do you know if they heat the big pool? Were there any lifeguards there testing the water and such? Thanks again for all your help!

There are no lifeguards there, but I did see someone testing the water. It was a very clean pool! I think it is heated too!:teeth:

Thanks for the info! What a relief! My family and I are staying in a 2BR condo at Windsor Palms soon and I was worried about the quality.

We went to Orlando a couple years ago and stayed at the Westgate Villas using the armed forces discount. That place was beautiful. That was the vacation that made Orlando my favorite. I was hoping that I hadn't ruined this year's vacation by choosing the wrong place to stay.

Thanks again! :)

Hi cwell,

Could you please pm the vrbo # to me too?:teeth:

What type of beds are in the condo?

Thanks a mill.

Unfortunately, I emailed the owner and that great rate is a goner. He said it won't be available again. Glad you got it when the gettin' was good!

I would still like to know which condo it was because it would be nice to be on the first floor and near the pool.

:sunny:

Thank you Cari.
