We were visiting family in MD and VA when we decided we had to take a couple of days and go to Williamsburg. Just love it there! Last time there we stayed in one of the little houses right in the historic district. Can't beat it, but with a baby we figured we needed to try something new.
My son is the worlds lightest sleeper. We tried to sleep with him in our room at my sisters' houses, but it just doesn't work. We had to put him into a separate room and he slept great. So we figured we'd better look for a suite.
Searching on-line we found a new hotel called the Woodlands Hotel and Suites. Its right next to the visitors center, so a short walk to the historic area or you can take a shuttle from the visitors center. we walked...so pretty. About 15 minute walk.
The hotel itself was wonderful. Very helpful staff. The suite had a kingsized bed in the bedroom, with an armoir/tv, and a DOOR. Yes, a door to the bedroom. We put my son in there and he slept like a log. Next is the spacious bathroom, and across from that is a sink/counter/microwave/mini fridge. Not mini-bar. Woo-hooo! Then there is the living room...queen sized pull-out, armoir with TV again, chairs, coffee table.
They just opened fairly recently so everything is new.
That morning was a complimentary continental breakfast. Cereal, muffins, toast, doughnuts, coffee, juice, milk, etc.
I know questions about where to stay in Williamsburg have come up from time to time so wanted to pipe in. We got the room for $110 with a promotional code that they told us about. They do offer AAA discounts, too. The picture in the link below might be a regular hotel room...like I said, we had a suite. Or else maybe the suites come in 2 doubles as well as king.
