Just back from Wilderness Lodge

I have to say we loved the lodge we were in room 6014 which is right by the canal that the boat for the magic kingdom goes by and believe it or not (I think thanks to Charlie) we had a view of the castle we watched it change colors at night and could also see wishes from our balcony it was just great. Our room was a smoking room with 2 queen beds but at no time could you ever smell smoke on that floor even my husband commented on it. We received towel animals the last 2 days we were there which was great too. We had a few problems with buses taking 1/2 hour a few times but other than that not a problem. Glad you had a great time. We're headed to WL 9/11 - 9/15 ! Did you eat at Whispering Canyon or Roarking Forks ? How was it ? Did you try the in-room dining ? Was the boat transportation timely ?

We did eat at both and the food was great at both of them, however my husband and I were not prepared for the loud noise that was in the Whispering Canyon restaurant the kids had a great time but it was not the type of restaurant for my husband or myself. We asked for ketchup and was not expecting the waiter to yell for ketchup and we received 20 bottles of it from people at all the other tables. I think it was that we had just checked in that day did the parks and it was late around 8 and we had been up since 2:30 in the morning and I had a migraine at the time and my pills had not kicked in yet but the kids had a great time got doo rags on their heads did the horse ride around the restaurant and did the hoolahoop game too.

We stayed at the WL 2 years ago and plan to return this year. I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful trip. Your view sounds great! How was the boat transportation? Did it go each time to FW before going to MK? Two years ago it did not do this, the WL boat went straight to MK. thanks

Now I'm not sure if I'm going to get this right their are 3 boats one with green flag goes directly to Magic Kingdom no stops the ones with blue flags (their are 2 boats) Wilderness Lodge to Contemporary and Ft Wilderness and back to Wilderness Lodge. We never had a problem with the boats they were great and never waited more than 5-10 minutes but that gave the kids enough time to feed the ducks and birds.

Hi Shelby !

Did ya'll request the smoking room? Just wondering if you had requested a non-smoking and were placed in the smoking room, thus the comment about the smell of smoke.

thanks shelby2001 I'm glad to hear about the boats and the wait time. We never had a problem with this last time, but I thought I read somewhere that the boat to MK was going to FW first each time. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

We did request a smoking room for my DH who smoked on the balcony and not in the room we only feel it is right to smoke on the balcony in the smoking section of the hotel but you couldn't smell the smoke at all usually I can but not at all.

We just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the WL and are hoping to stay there again someday!
