Just got back from a short trip to WDW to celebrate my birthday. We stayed at the WL with the AP rate and had a great room! Everything was excellent. We will have to stay there again for sure! Only wish we had more time to enjoy everything! I loved the boat from WL to MK....so quick and easy! WCC was awesome! So good, we ate there twice!

Also, bc it was my birthday, I got a nice little surprise from Minnie! When I came back to my room on Friday eveing, on the bed was an 8x10 card with a signed picture of minnie wishing me a happy birthday with ballons!! What a nice touch!

So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I would like to ask a few questions as we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time in June, 2008.

What type of room did you have and where was it located?

How was the transportation? I've been reading some bad posts recently regarding the transportation.

Did you purchase anything at Roaring Forks? I know it's not a food court but we're planning on picking up breakfast items there.

Thanks in advance, Lisa

We were in a King Handicap room over looking the courtyard on the 6th floor - 6141 to be exact. I don't know why we got a handicap room, but the King size bed was awesome (except for the fact it was close to the ground!).

We only took the boat to the MK (we were only there 2 days and spent both days at MK). I had no problems at all. It was so quick and easy to get to and from MK on the ferry. We did take the monorail to CR, and it broke down. They said they were having a lot of problems with it.

Yes, we got breakfast at Roaring Forks on Saturday morning. It was great! I couldn't believe all the options. We work in NYC, so the prices were comparable to what we pay here at home.

Hope that helps!

Roaring forks has single serve cereal, fruit, yogurt, that sort of stuff. The Mercantile, which is the "gift shop" has boxes of cereal, donuts, bags of bagels, and that sort of stuff, as well as paper products to eat them with. We had a queen/bunk courtyard view on the fourth floor, had a view of the the trees and pool from our balcony. We have NEVER had a problem with WL transportation. The boat and bus to MK are great...the bus if you are in a hurry, the boat if you want to dawdle. You do "share" with GF and the CampGround for some, but we never had more than a 5-10 minute wait for a bus, and never had more than a 20 minute trip, even to TL and DD. We LOVE WL....

Thanks for all the great info. We're trying WL for the first time in July for our Magical Gathering.

I'm glad you had a great time! We will be staying at the lodge for the first time in Jan. I can't wait!!!:goodvibes

We returned from WL on Sept. 18. They too left me a picture of Minnie and balloons on the door when I returned from the park.

We received a great upgrade from Woodsview with two queens to Courtyard view with 2 queens. We were in room 4019. It was our second stay, and we loved it.

We arrived late on Sept. 11 and asked for them to hold our luggage until the a.m. In the a.m. I called guest services and asked if they could arrange to have our luggage delivered. I hung up the phone and sent my DH to RF for change. Less than 1 minute later there was a knock at the door. Surely, I thought it must be DH forgetting something. Wrong!! I was the luggage. I swear the bellman must fly in that place. Last year when we were at POFQ, when they said they would be right up with something it meant a good 6 hours. Not so for WL!

We had a great view of the pool and it was quiet, even though the hotel was sold out.

I hope WL fits into next years budget. I would definitely stay a third time.;)
