Hi There,
Just back last night from WDW. I was actually there on a business trip and staying at the Yacht Club. I was very excited to go down there this time, since this trip represented an opportunity to see, in person, what I had bought a few months prior...the Beach Club Villas!
It was a little tough to find the time between meeting schedules, but I finally made my way over to the Beach Club...and after getting lost
I found the correct entrance to the Villas. So, with video camera in hand per my DW's request (read demand) I went up to the booth and asked for a tour. The lady very graciously gave me all the time I wanted to get a good look around. I loved it!
What first struck me was the size. I know from reading this board, that the Beach Club Villas are significantly smaller in footprint than those at OKW. but the rooms were much more spacious than I expected based on the pictures I had seen. The bathroom with the jacuzzi tub were especially attractive.
After shooting my video and thanking the guide, I gave myself a little bit of a tour. Loved the extra gathering rooms, the Ariel statue and the whole atmosphere.
I made my way to the gift-shop. My only disapointment here was that I wanted to buy a DVC polo shirt, but could not justify the higher cost versus the more generic, embroidered WDW polo shirt. I understand that price is determined in part by how many you can sell; and you will certainly sell fewer of this type of specialty item...but ouch! $52.00!!!
Life goes on...I went out to take a look at SAB. What a thrill. My kids 6,3 and 2 are going to LOVE it! For our purposes, it will serve as a complete replacement for the water parks, at least until the kids are a little older.
I loved the SHORT walk to Epcot
I and some freinds had dinner in Japan (yummy) and made a night at the park. It is so nice to be able to make a quick trip back to your hotel after a long evening at the park and not have to take the bus. Is it just me or has the bus you needed always just left before you arrive at the stop
Spent the entire day on Thursday before my flight at MK. It was hot and humid, but the crowds were very light. At 11 a.m. I was able to walk onto Peter Pans Flight and the Haunted Mansion. By about 2 or 3, the crowds had grown somewhat...and so had the heat, but I was still seeing things like 25 minutes for Splash Mountain (I still don't see why more people don't use Fast Pass)
I got 2 "Welcome Homes" and a suprise on my voice mail. My guide, Byron, called the room I was staying in to see if I was enjoying my stay and had a chance to tour the BCV! I was really shocked as I had only mentioned it in passing to him. GREAT customer service! Personally, I'll take that kind of service over the "welcome home" any time
If you don't mind taking the kids out of school...this late May timeframe seems like a great time to go.
That's about it....I will gladly answer any questions
