Just back from WDW and these are my best tips...

I've done a fair amount of traveling and touring that included tons of walking. But there is NOTHING like the amount of walking you do at Disney. Even my MIL who is in awesome shape and spends hours on her feet golfing every week found a switch of shoes to be helpful.

In my case, my awesome walking shoes left blisters on the BOTTOM of my feet! Not so much from rubbing, but from the walking. Switching shoes allowed the point of contact to change and eased the pain.

Okay, thanks. Certainly worth considering for the packing list then. We also need to get our walking stamina up some before the trip, but I already knew that and am planning neighborhood walks.

No, we were willing to take the first available and were told that our party might even be split up. It was a luck of the draw that we got a near-window seat. We had 7:15 ADRs and were not seated until 8:15ish. Our dinner was being served at exactly 9:00 when Illuminations started.

Honestly, I think I'd choose an earlier ADR with an anticipation of waiting. With a 7:15 ADR, we were almost the last group to leave the restaurant.

Thanks for the head's up. I was actually thinking 7:45 might be a little late for Illum....

I have only read here that you can't ask to wait for a table. If you refuse your table assignment once, you don't eat.

ETA: Just noticed you wrote San Angel Inn which is the TS inside the pyramid not the one by the lagoon, La Hacienda de San Angel.

If you booked San Angel Inn no amount of waiting will get a view of Illuminations.

Good to know about the table assignment. And I actually did mean the La Hacienda de San Angel.

My family and I actually ADORE Wolfgang Puck! I order the pizza almost every time and find it delicious! We go there at least twice every time. Maybe a bad pizza? I would give Wolfgang Puck a second chance to prove itself. Haha :goodvibes

On your reasons for the restaurant choice. I don't go to a character restaurant for the food, and I don't go to Sanaa for the chance to meet Mickey. I am choosing CRT for the opportunity to get into the MK before the hoards. To walk down Main st. alone, not for the Princess meet or the food. If however, I go to a signature restaurant, and the food is mediocre or bad, then I would have a bone to pick with someone!

Thank you so much for your tips, notes, and reviews. I love to read someone else's (clear and to the point) opinions on WDW.

Thanks for posting your thoughts and reviews, CathieArms! I totally agree with the multiple shoes & the body glide/powder suggestions. Lifesavers!

I'm a little confused, I thought La Hacienda de San Angel was a CS and I didn't think you had to make reservations for CS? Can someone please help me out? TIA

Actually, La Hacienda de San Angel is the sit down restaurant and they serve dinner only. I believe La Cantina de San Angel is the CS.
