We just spent the last 15 days at "HOME". The trip was wonderful and I already miss "HOME".

We stayed at VWL the first week. We enjoyed it with the proximity to MK. WE went to E night and didn't realize the boat didn't run back to VWL. We had to take the monorail to the Transportaion center and switch to a bus! My 6 year old was dragging (so was mom!!) and my 11 year old was wondering if we would make it back o.k.!! WE met alot of nice people there and had no complaints!

WE went to VB for the weekend. The room we had needed some maintenace. The grouttt in the bathroom need re-grouting and the caulking around the tube could be done again. Some of the doors to the rooms were all rusted! Other then that we enjoyed ourselves.

WE then returned to OKW!!! I love the spaciousness of the rooms!! We did not get a welcome home from the guard and my DD's booed him!!! WE did get a welcome home from Angelo the bellman and the front desk staff!! We had no complaints and are already looking to return............

All in all I was disappointed I did not meet and fellow DISers!!

15 days and no green ribbons to be found!!

Any questions, feel free to ask!!

Glad you had such a great trip.

We went to VB first time in May. I loved it, DH not so thrilled. Couldn't believe how large our studio was. We had an ocean view room. It was in great shape. Maybe they are re-doing some.

Thanks for sharing yoru thoughts on your DVC stays! Isn't Angelo wonderful! He has been at OKW for a LONG time - it is nice to go home & see the same CMs over & over again.

I hope you let housekeeping &/or engineering know about the maintenance issues you encountered at VB. The members/guests are the best source of what needs taking care of.

In what building did you stay at OKW? If you ate at Olivia's, how was it? Did you ever have problems finding a parking place? We've spent 1 night at OKW, and DH loved it. Trying to find out if our one night was "typical". Any problem with noise?

We stayed in building 63. Parking is not right in front of this building. We used the lot for 16 across the street. We requested bldg. 63 or 64. Next time we will ask for 62 or 64. But it really wasn't a big deal except for one late night and we had to carry 2 DD's!!! We used the elevator so that helped.

We ate at Olivia's only once for dinner. It was excellent. I had the Mahi Mahi with carmelized onions on a bed of field greens with balsamic vingarette. It was so yummy. DH has Penne Pasta with Asiago (sp?). He really enjoyed it. I splurged and had the brownie sundae for dessert, DH had the chocolate cake with raspberry, he said it was very good. The girls had a cup of dirt!!!

We enjoyed our time at the pool(OKW), especially when the DJ was there. The girls enjoyed the Unbirthday party and had fun with CM MaryAnn.

We love OKW and are looking to book next years trip!!! Maybe not so much jumping around from resort to resort but just staying put at OKW!!!

When were you at okw. We just got back and were in building 63 too. We were the loud group in the GV.;)

I'm glad you had such a good time. I have wondered where all the DISers hide. I always wear my Green ribbon and have never spotted anyone else!

disneyaddict, if you were the loud group in Bldg. 63 then you were loud enough (LOL)!!! We were there from the 11-17!! We were on the 3rd floor and it was pretty quiet and peaceful.

I guess OKW didn't skimp on the insulation!!

Maybe we saw one another at the pool annd didn't realize it!!

Sorry I couldn't be there to arrange a Minnie Meet. :)

Perhaps I could quit my job and move down to Old Key West as a permanent resident. Nice thought.

I know what you mean about green ribbons. I think that I've only bumped into another DISer once in the past two or three years at some place other than an organized DISmeet.

It sounds like you all had wonderful vacations down at "home". We'll next be there the last two weeks of June 2003. Perhaps we'll see some of you there.

disneyaddict..............My brain is mush.......we were in bldg. 64!! So, I guess that is why we did not hear you!

We moved around to 4 different resorts, I forgot the room numbers..........

Rosemary, We joined at about the same time a couple years ago. I'm curious, how many trips you have taken so far? This one sounds like it was nice and long! We are going on our first cruise in a few weeks, Magic 7 day Eastern, and then we go to BWV for a week in November, I think that will be our 4th on points. Still loving it! Obviously, I'm not much of a poster.Sus:)

Rbuzzotta.....Suprised that you didn't hear us from over there. Actually I guess we weren't THAT loud. It just when you get 12 people in those GV"s with the high ceilings everthing gets magnified. Glad you had such a good time. It was too bad about all the rain (and yes I know they need it). We are used to going when it rains about an hour each day, but there were some nights when it really stuck around. But thats the great thing about DVC, we were able to go back and hang out at the room without being all cramped up.

Judy

SimbaSue,

We have stayed using our points 4 times and have gone without points a few other times.

This trip was great!! Nice and long. Next year we plan on staying just at OKW for the entire trip!

Sounds good! We would probably go more if the air wasn't so expensive. It's nice to know we're not alone in our "obsession". When we booked this cruise for cash, I was thinking maybe we had finally gone Disney overboard!Sus:)
