We just got back tonight from a 3-night stay at the YC concierge. This was our first time staying in the Epcot area and I must say that we will probably never stay anywhere else. There is just so much to do around the resort and the boardwalk. It was awesome.
We were in room 5179, which was right over the main doors that lead out from the lobby to the ligthouse. The view was dead center of the boardwalk and just beautiful. Our room had the 2 queens with a comfy chair and ottoman. There wasn't a daybed, but we didn't need one. I thought the decor and condition of the room was excellent. The room was very clean and our housekeeper was wonderful. We even received our first towel animal, which was a nice surprise.
We used the pool our first day and it was really very nice. My 2-year-old loved it and asked to go swimming every single day afterwards. I went down the waterslide and was shocked at how quickly I moved through that tube.
The concierge staff was very friendly and always spoke when we came through. However, there was a small incident that I felt they could have handled better. My husband left his baseball cap at the pool under his chair and one of the recreation staff found it. Later that night, my husband was sitting out by the marina and the employee saw him and recognized that he was the one who had lost it (we didn't even know it was gone). She told him that she would leave it at the resort that night. When we returned to the hotel a few hours later, there was a message from one of the concierge staff that they had found the hat and that it was at the desk. It was after 10:00 pm, so the next morning, he went down and asked about it and they didn't know what he was talking about. They told him they would check into it, but when we returned back to our room 5 hours later, there was still no hat. I went down to the front desk, to see if it was down there and the staff jumped into action. They looked for it right away and then one of them (I really wish I had gotten her name) got my room number and actually listened to the message I had received. She determined exactly who it was that left the message, called the concierge staff, explained the situation, and basically told them that the hat was up there. We had the hat within 15 minutes. It was a small thing, but I guess I felt that the concierge staff should have been able to resolve this situation. I also noticed that with the exception of the concierge staff, very few of the hotel employees actually spoke when we would pass them.
All in all, I was very happy with our stay at the YC, but I wouldn't mind try the other Epcot resorts to see how those measure up.
If I can answer any questions, please let me know!
