The Yacht Club:

First, let me say that I am a true Poly lover and was against staying anywhere else for our anniversary trip. But the DW wanted to try something new and we agreed on a split-stay. Boy was she right, the YC was incredible! Everything about this hotel was great: beautiful entrance, great restaurant, great CM's and SAB was even better than anticipated. We had room 4205 and were told the room was ready when we checked in around noon. We got to the room however, and it had not been cleaned after the last guests. We called down and the front desk apologized and offered to move us to another room and asked if we had any location requests. We told them we wanted to keep the room we had. Our view was a water view room overlooking SAB and directly facing the BW, no way we were giving that up! The cleaning staff arrived in about ten minutes and we went down to the pool as they cleaned the room. SAB really is amazing and the snack bar was great. The were checking room keys at the towel racks on the weekend and giving out wristbands but not during the week. However, even on the weekend there were alot of people in the pool without wristbands and none of the lifeguards said anything to them. Maybe they only enforce the rules when it is really crowded.

The only thing we found a little bad about the place was the lack of a snack bar type place like Captain Cook's at the Poly. It would have been nice to grab a snack after the pool bar had closed.

The Poly:

Kind of a wierd check-in experience. I had requested a third floor room in Tokelau overlooking the quiet pool. The CM saw the notaion on my ressie and then told me she had a room on the other side of Tokelau and it would not be ready until 3:00, (we checked in around 9:00am). I asked again if she had anything on the pool side and when she checked again, she told us she had room 3901, (first room off the elevator overlooking the pool, even had an end balcony, perfect!) and the room was ready now. Why didn't she just give us this room at first? Oh well, it all worked out great anyway. The Poly was great as usual, the new shop in the GCH is really cute, although I have to agree with a post I saw a while back that there needs to be more Poly merchandise. There used to be the Poly stuff store but it is closed now and none of that merchandise made it into the Boutiki. The renovations going on were not bad at all and it looks like Niue is just about ready, all the new sliding doors were in and the were stocking the linens as we left. They began the work on Hawaii this morning and it was kind of loud. It might be a little noisy around the quiet pool for a little while.

All in all a great trip, be happy to answer any questions. Oh yeah, the crowds were not bad at all except for the EMH at the MK. A total Zoo! It was a wednesday night too! 30-60 min waits on most rides. That was after we walked right on to almost everything during the day.

I am glad you had a great time. We are doing a split stay at poly and yc at the end of october. cool

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great trip! :) We're considering an Epcot resort for a future trip, so I enjoyed to hear your opinion of the YC, especially since you're a Polynesian fan.

Thanks for mentioning that they've started working on the Hawaii building. We are booked there for 6 weeks from now and *really* hoping they have it completed on time. It's good to know they've started it :)

Thanks for the report. Glad you had a good time! We left Tokelau on the 14th and loved the location! Sorry for the Tokelau people staying now. Working on the very next building to you can't be fun.
