Just back from the Wonder

We came home yesterday from the Wonder yesterday. I thought a 4 day cruise would be too short after a 7 day, but it was perfect. I'll be posting a trip report on the board sometime this weekend, but if anyone has any questions, just ask!

I'm curious...what did you decide to do in Nassau? Did you get off the WONDER? If yes, what did you think of the local scene? My family is taking the 4-day WONDER cruise in May and I’m still debating whether or not I want to take my family off the ship in Nassau (my kids are 12 and 9). My current thinking is that we’ll do one of three options: 1) stay onboard and enjoy the ship, 2) take a short walk around the shops in downtown Nassau for souveniers, etc., or 3) get a room at Comfort Suites on PI and spend the day at the Atlantic pools and beaches. What would you suggest?

I stayed on the boat both in Nassau and Freeport. My parents took the Nassau historical bus tour and were very very very dissapointed. It was NOT a historical tour and it was NOT in an air conditioned bus. It was in a taxi. We went to the "straw market" in Freeport and didn't find anything to buy. I know a couple of families that went to Atlantis and enjoyed themselves. A lot of people stayed on the boat in Nassau and more stayed on in Freeport.

Thanks for the reply. I’m sorry your parents were disappointed by the bus tour. I’m thinking we’ll probably just get off the ship and walk around the shops for an hour or so, then reboard the ship. Of course, if the weather forecast looks “iffy” for our Casaway Cay day, then the day-trip to Atlantis may become my first choice. Thanks again for the feedback.

Our 4 day Wonder cruise begins a week from this Sunday. Our first Disney cruise! I was wondering if you happened to talk to anyone that went to Our Lucaya from Freeport. We have a 3 (almost 4) year old DS who loves the sand and water. We were thinking about taking a cab there. I would be very interested if you heard any feedback about Our Lucaya and/or any beaches in Freeport.

We will have two teens with us when we go on the Wonder. Did you notice if they had a "teen day" at the spa and what the prices were? Thanks.

I'd like to know what your dining rotation was and how you liked your servers? What type of stateroom did you have? What was the best thing you enjoyed about the cruise and what would you do different? Were you able to make it to Palo? Any comments on your experience if you did eat there?

Thanks in advance. As my cruise gets closer (and slowly) closer, I'm getting really excited!

There was a teen special on the 2 days we docked. It was $69 plus tip for a mini facial,manicure ,and pedicure. We treated my daughter and she loved it!

KMC33, no we did not hear anything about Our Lucya. From how many people that were on the boat, not many ventured off.

We had the late seating with APTA with Kerry and Jacqualine. They both did an excellent job. The first two nights my 3yr old DD did not want to come to dinner, but Kerry and Jacqualine started to believe I did not have a DD. So the last 2 nights she came and they did a wonderful job entertaining her. Kerry is suppose to be there on our 3 day next Feb. and he told us to request him.

We did go to Palo. We went at 6pm on our 3rd night (Tuesday) and it wasn't that busy. THe food was wonderful and service was top up there also. We also recieved a thank-you card from our server which is a first. When we went on the Magic we never received a thank-you card.

We also went to play bingo every day except the last night. The jackpots weren't as high. Trevor was funny though and we chatted with him a bit. We also saw three movies onboard, The Big Piglet Movie, Chicago, and Raising the HOuse. All were excellent! I also did the Lady's Night at the Spa which was tons of fun and relaxing!
