AWESOME hotel!! I had a WONDERFUL experience there and all I can say is WOW!

For those of you who don't know I had a pretty bad accident while on vacation. Tripped and fell on the concrete steps down to the boat dock and splat on my face! Well, the Royal Pacific couldn't have shown more care and concern. I really don't remember being treated like this in my LIFE. I will post a trip report and let everyone know the deal.

I will be posting a FAQ thread on this hotel soon, also. Anyone who has been there or will be there, please post what you'd like to see on the thread, thanks!

Any questions???

I love to be treated well on vacation, but don't plan to follow your lead... :D I'm glad that you had fun in spite of your accident. How many days were you there before your accident? We leave early in the morning and will drive until we are sick of I95 and then drive even more. Ugh. We will spend tomorrow night in Jacksonville and then arrive Sunday monring.

How was your room? What view did you have and did you get the Loews perks? How long did check-in take? I'd love any other last minute tips you could give us.

Thanks, T&B

I arrived on Sunday morning and had the accident Monday evening after the parks closed.

How was your room?

Absolutely beautiful! It was very similar to the Hard Rock but for some reason this room felt so much more comfortable. Like my son said, it felt like a big huge HUG!

What view did you have and did you get the Loews perks?

We had the Citywalk "Radisson" view, LOL! My son and I got a kick out of seeing the lit up "twin towers" of the Radisson outside of our window because it was our first hotel in Orlando. Needless to say I didn't get an upgrade! I did ask for one because so many people were checking out but was told that there was availability for the first two days but not for our last two. :(

We got our Milk and Cookies perk later that afternoon. These were the best chocolate chip cookies I ever had! And that says alot because I had a company that made only chocolate chip cookies and was very proud of my own product! They were very fresh and huge! The milk came in a green "cracked glass" pitcher in a glass bucket of ice. The presentation was beautiful.

How long did check-in take?

I had no one ahead of me on the Loews check in line. The lady who took care of us was phenomenal. So much so that my son wanted to go back and visit her. She took care of everything and got us into our room at 11:30am. I was very impressed! :teeth:

Take advantage of "Star Service". This is a Loews perk that makes them special. My son was stuck in the room with me at certain times and we ordered up a putting green for him to play with, (I'm raising the next Tiger Woods) a cd player and a cd to listen to when I got the TV! These people are so customer serviceable and so special. I really enjoyed just "bugging" them!! :teeth:

If you're looking for a "cheap" meal, get the kids meals at the Islands restaurant. You can get anything from a hamburger meal to a personal pan pizza for about $3.50, the cheapest deal on property! You can eat at the hotel or order it and pick up.

You will enjoy it, T&B! Take my word for it!

Wow, thanks Robin!

That's great about the cookies and milk. Did you have the entertainment rate? That would be a big hit with my kids, not to mention the adults. We have two rooms so I assume that they would bring enough for all of us.

I'll keep Star Service in mind. What other types of things do they offer?

That's a good kids meal deal. Do you have to order an adult meal to get the kids meal take-out? The adults are going out one evening (I hope) and that might be a good thing to get for the kids.

I can't wait for your trip report (excuse the pun). ;)

Thanks for the info, Robin, glad to see your fall didnt totally ruin your vaca. Boy you've had a tough time lately.

We'll be checking in to the RPR next Saturday. Cant wait!!

Patty

No, I got my deal on www.hotelkingdom.com.

They offer cds and cd players, discmen and dvds; workout equipment and games. The list is on your table next to the phone. Great options!

That's a good kids meal deal. Do you have to order an adult meal to get the kids meal take-out?

No, you can even order one while sitting at the restaurant for yourself and your kids.

I can't wait for your trip report ....

VERRRY funny! :teeth:

And Patty, have a great time!

Robin, I thought you'd like that tripping comment... :o Too bad that had to happen, though.

You're saying that adults can even order the kids meal or did I misunderstand?

T&B

Hi Robin!

Yes, I heard about your trip. Hpe you're ok now. Glad that to hear that you enjoyed your stay at RPR. We will be there in 5 days!!! I am excited!!

I am a very petite mommy and I don't eat much...so...did I understand you right that an adult can also order a kid's meal? I would hate to order something huge knowing it will only go to waste.

How is the pool? What is the deepest ft of the pool. Unfortunately I don't swim. Was the pool nice and warm? Did you get a chance to pool hop?

What rides did you enjoy? Which rides would you recommend for my 4 and 6? I am not a rollercoaster kind of person so what rides are not over thriller for us.

What restaurants did you try at the parks? Which are the ones you liked the most.

I hope all these questions did overwhelmed you. Thanks in advance!

Telly

robin ... I'm so glad your back in one piece. My family was just talking about you, Micheal and your trip/trip over dinner

LOL, trip/trip.... that's a good one Sha Lyn!

Fantasia and T&B:

I ordered the kids meal for MYSELF :teeth: , to go and at the restaurant. I also cannot eat much at a time, stomach problems, and they give more than enough in the kids meal and the price is awesome.

Please note that in Room service, the kids meals prices are doubled, plus a charge of $3.00 and a 20% gratuity. You can call 33430 and order it for a pick up. A small ride down the elevator to the 1st floor can save a bunch! (Yes, I am a fruGAL!)

The Sam I Am breakfast has scrambled egg with cheese, bacon, toast and pototoes and fruit. Not bad for $3.50 at a resort like this if I say so myself!

Pool:

I did not spend alot of time at the pools, in a wheelchair most of the time, so my son spent alot of time at the Royal Bali Sea, a water interactive kids area that is in the Lagoon Pool area. They have sprinklers, sprayers and the kids go from place to place getting drenched. It was great! Michael made lots of friends there because the kids get to "meet" each other by spraying them with the "water guns". I wanted to run in and join them! It's great for very small children and non swimmers because there is no emersion.

Rides:

I went on just about everything! Your kids will love Suess Landing and Toon Lagoon at IOA and in Universal, nothing beats the Curious George area, ET and Barney! My son was 6 when I first started going to the parks and wasn't able to go on the coasters till he was 8 but STILL loved these parks better than any park in Orlando.

Restaurants:

I LIVED at the Islands Restaurant at the RPR, so much that the guys treated me like Norm from Cheers! :teeth: The wait staff and the food is awesome! They have a character dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays (and one other day, not sure) and we had a ball there Tuesday. There was only two characters that night, Woody Woodpecker and Curious George, but they spent quality time with the kids. Michael had such a good time that night.

I also went to MYTHOS, Confiscos and the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. MYTHOS is my hands down fave, with Confiscos coming up very closely as second. It MIGHT have something to do with the fact that TheSecondCook has moved from M to C! I was so thrilled to finally meet the famous cook! He was even more adorable than I thought! Hard Rock is just okay, somehow their food just doesn't get it. We went to Boulangerie, Pastamore and the Croussant Moon for snacks and breakfasts on the run and they were delicious!

Hope that helps! :bounce:

Thanks Robin for answering my questions. Sounds like you really enjoyed your trip and your stay at RPR, that's great! I hope we will enjoy our trip just like you enjoyed yours minus the trip. :p

Robin, We will be at RPR from 4/15-4/19. Do we need to make restaurant ressies ahead of time for the places you mentioned? Do we get any special seating perts as resort guests? I have a cabana reserved, did you get a chance to see them at all? Thanks for the help.

we stayed there in March - oh I really love this place - it is beautiful and the know the "feeling" you are talking about - mother and I felt the same - it is a feeling of safe and security - we really love this place - first hotel that I got that warm and fuzzy feeling from.

I get it from a DVC resort OKW - but that is not the same at all.

It was really nice to get that from a hotel. It almosts feel like "home'.

My cat, Spicey, probably had a better time than we did. He is a friendly animal - very people friendly - so he enjoyed that people generally appreciate him and he got alot of attention - from the staff and the guests.

we have a wonderful room - with a view on the pool from the sixth floor - you could people watch and bird watch at the time! I though it would be noisey - but no - not at all- it was very quiet. Until we went outside - then the noise - Spicey and mother did not appreciate the noise. but he still behaved himself - I was very pleased - this is a wonderful place - hotel does not do it justice.

we didn't do any pool hopping - I forget my swimming suit
:o and we still have a great time!

I only made reservations for the character dinner, all the others I just walked in. I don't know if there were any special perks for the resort guests but we were always treated like royalty.

I DID see the cabanas, there are only three and they looked very similar to the ones on the other properties. I remember thinking I would stay here all day if I was in one of them! :teeth:

spiceycat:

I thought about how my "princess" cat Xena would just LOVE this place. She thinks she's royalty anyway! I'm so glad you felt the same as I did, I thought I was crazy. The room was so quiet and peaceful, the tones and the hues of the room were so warm you could FEEL it. I don't remember feeling like this in any hotel room I'd ever been in and I've been in PLENTY!
