I have been to Disney before but I never stayed at the Poly. There has been a lot of discussion on the boards about it not being a great place to stay anymore. I loved it. My rooms were always cleaned. Maid service made little towel animales for the kids everyday. There was no time that I made any request to the staff and it wasn't taken care of immediately. I didn't notice any major over crowding of the pool although we weren't there a lot. I loved the boat service from Magic Kingdom. There was always a boat within ten minutes and it beat fighting for a seat on the Monrail. There was some renovations going in the resort but nothing that will affect your stay. It was a great time.

Thanks...we will be there in 4 days....which building were you in...amy :cool1:

Great!! Thank you for posting the information, we will be there in a few days as well, and we asked for the Tokelau building, but it does not matter if we get it or not, I will just be excited about staying there. :cool1:

As with most things one reads here, they should be taken with a grain of salt since experiences are as different as snowflakes, it seems. I like to hear what people have to say, but ultimately I will make up my own mind based on my own experiences, not someone else's. It's good to hear you weren't frightened away from a great time at a great resort.

Thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting! We're looking forward to our stay later this year.

glad to hear that you had a great time, we're headed there in aug.......can't wait!

Glad you enjoyed the Polynesian :sunny: We stayed there for the first time in March and fell in love with the place :cloud9: We were in Tahiti and it was soooo nice (garden view); The Polynesian is wonderful :cheer2:

Thanks for posting a positive review of your experience at the Poly. It seems as though the people who have great experiences don't post about them and the ones with lousy reviews are always posting! We will be there in a month and I am becoming more and more excited about returning to my "home away from home"!

Thanks for posting your "positive" experience. I too cannot firgure out what all the negativity posted about the Poly is all about. Every time we have stayed there, we've had a wonderful time. I can't wait. Three more weeks and we will be back :cool1:

I'm happy you had a great time! :flower: Does the Poly have a hot tub? I think I read somewhere that is doesn't, but I find it odd for a deluxe hotel not to have one.

Nope no hot tub....
But I did just read on another thread..that you can use the one at GF....I dont know how accurate this is....but that poster said they called for the info...:confused3

Glad you enjoyed your stay. What was your favorite part of your experience?

As a longtime Polynesian lover and sort of a DIS vet, what I've noticed is that all the positive posts fade to page 2 in a few hours. The few negative ones last forever even when the negatives are ludicrous. For instance, "Our room was ready at 6am and it was in Samoa. But I didn't have a balcony in my second floor room. Of course, I knew that but still...I should have had one because I was at a deluxe resort." :confused3

But glad to hear that you had fun. How was the weather at this time of year?

Cool! I'm really getting excited now that we're under 6 months away!

Why oh why does the Poly not have a hot tub? They have plenty of room. It makes no sense. A La Quinta that costs $59 a night has a hot tub. For me, esp. on a vacation where a lot of walking is done, a hot tub is essential.

We at dinner at Ohana, and I could tell that DS14 was longing to stay there (he loved the hammocks on the beach) but for me, no hot tub, no stay there.

We'll be there too! Nov 27th - Dec 3rd...home to the Poly...heaven!

BTW - love your screen name...my nickname in college was ferret - long story, don't ask - but I have a strange place in my heart for the little furry guys!
