Just back from the LONGEST Disney cruise *Part 3 added!*

I've been away from the boards for a few days so this was a great way to get back. Loved your reports. I'd been wondering about those that got the 10 day experience.

Cove Café: This turned out to be one of my husband’s and my favorite spots on the entire ship!!! On the second or third day, we wandered in there looking for something refreshing to drink that wasn’t alcoholic, and didn’t have caffeine. A WONDERFUL CM named Lourdes made us up her own version of decaf-caramel-coffee-smoothies, and sometimes we’d get them iced, instead of frozen. (This wasn’t on the coffee menu, she listened to what we wanted and made these up herself). She even remembered our names each time we returned! She’d make up our coffee drinks and place them on a large square plate, along with a cookie. There were biscotti, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, and an almond bar with raspberry or apricot jam. This became a regular stop for my husband and I, each afternoon. The Cove Café has very soft comfortable chairs, and soft bar stools.

That sounded great! I know my DD15 will go nuts for that place. She would live on Caramel coffee smoothies if we let her!

We were on the Magic in 2002 and don't remember the Cove Café. Where on the ship is it located?

We will be on the Wonder in November... is there an equivalent on the Wonder as well?

Thanks...

I was in the room across from Terry in 6045 and 6043. She was nice to show my family her gorgeous room with a view (I am still jealous) Disney went so out of their way to accomodate us on the "10 day cruise".
The meals were ourstanding. The entertainment was amazing. On some of the "XTRA"days... they held mini workshops of the drummers, vantriloquist, and the juggler.
I had a 15 yr old daughter that LOVED the STACK( BTW, Terry,, she said your son was a riot doing KAROKE!!.. I saw her for dinner and occasionaly on deck in the sun with her "NEW FRIENDS". She has received many IMs and phones calls from them already. But Terry,,, there were windows in Parrot Cay rest. along the walls when you walk in on the right and the far left.. I remember seeing the water on SUNDAY night,,lol..
This Dis board for the Aug 28 cruise was fantastic. We were more like long time friends than first time meeting...
Terry is giving a great account of the FANTASTIC trip.. we booked again... sometime in 2006 and maybe the western as well! Disney does ROCK..

Hi,
I just got back yesterday as well, my husband got off the ship in Texas and flew home on Saturday, so he was able to get us on a flight out of Ft. Lauderdale yesterday at 12:30.
From the sound of this thread it seems like some people are complaining on other threads. Well I think I won't read them because Disney did an unbelievable job in a bad situation. I can't imagine them doing anything else or any better than they did. If I had to complain it would be that I spent three more days of money I was not planning on, but hey it was three extra days of a cruise. I was glad to get off the ship, but I will be glad to get back on it again for our next cruise.
:earsboy:

I haven't read anyone complaining. Did I miss something? Even on the ship I didn't witness any chaos. I don't think anyone can complain about the way DCL handled the situation. We knowingly sailed during hurricane season and encountered one, I was upset (Not at DCL though) when I realized we wouldn't make it back for the 1st day of school BUT my kids were thrilled LOL

Although I never saw the movie "Groundhog Day" Everyone said after a while that they felt they were living the movie. I can't relate, I never saw it.

It was an adventure, but sailing with Seaspray and others made the cruise even more enjoyable, turning a corner and running into someone was very nice. And then on the last day when I realized we weren't getting off until Tuesday, I ordered 2 drinks of the day (they were two fers, by the way) Drank one quite fast and felt good after that, Right Darlene LOL

When the captain came on stage on Costa Maya day to update us, we all cheered about Costa Maya and then he said I guess you all would like to see Costa Maya on an itinerary and evryone cheered quite loudly. Keep your fingers crossed. It was great.
