Just back from Ft. Wilderness.
Great week! Great weather!
The only down thing was the last couple of days they were doing some work on the sidewalks. This is a good thing, because there were a few rather rough patches. However, I think they blocked off too much at one time. I ride an ECV around Ft. Wilderness and had to go into actual roadways at certain spots and that made me a little nervous.
Also, I wish they would put a sidewalk down that Cast Member road that Settlement Purple uses to get from 2000/Creekside Meadow down to Settlement. It is a LOOOOOOOONG way to Settlement from 2000 by way of the sidewalks as they are now.
I went down that road on my scooter one day to where it met up with the Wilderness Lodge walking trail, and it cut TONS off my ride to Settlement.
I also tried cutting through Creekside Meadow over the bridge to 900, but that is not accessible at all. Almost tore up my scooter.
The site decorations were great, Trails End was really wonderful, never made it over to the movie.
Also, I love the bus from Wilderness Lodge to Ft. Wilderness and back. It's a great way to get to Settlement or Meadows really quickly if you are coming from Downtown Disney, Epcot, or Animal Kingdom. It goes from Wilderness Lodge to Settlement, then becomes an Outpost Orange bus.
It's also great to be able to stop at Roaring Forks for a quick meal on the way back to Ft. Wilderness if you don't feel like a big meal at Trails End.
Cant' wait to get back to the Fort next year!!! (Wish I could convince my family to stay there in May, but it just ain't gonna happen).
Carol
