Just back from the Fort!

We stayed in cabin # 2135 from 10/19 - 10/25. LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT. We did not rent a golf cart all week, but used our bikes instead. Put lights on them, and it was no big deal. WE did not have more than a 5 minute ride anywhere in the park. We did rent a golf cart for 1 night (MNSSHP night) as I knew my 5 year old would be way too tired to ride a bike, and we didn't want to wait for bus.

I would highly recommend Fort Wilderness to anyone. We did not get to do hardly anything at the fort, due to lack of time. Next time, I would try for at least a few more days.

We did greatly enjoy

I would love to go back ASAP. Unfortunately, our budget will not allow. I hope we will be able to go again before the kids get too old (They are 5 and 7 now). I told them that Disney will spoil them for any other amusement park.

LOL! It's never enough time when it comes to Disney. I am glad you had a good time though.
DH and I never rent a golf cart unless we have family with us that don't do or have bikes. Though at the holiday time it is hard to drink a cup of hot cocoa and munch on Christmas cookie's while riding a bike around FW to check out everyone's decorations, so that might also be a good time to rent a golf cart for the day.

Make your reservations as early as you can for the Fort, it's a very popular place.

We just returned on Monday after a long weekend at the Fort. We were in site 115! It was a great location! We had the time of our lives and enjoyed every aspect of the campground as we only spent Friday in the MK for MNSSHP. We loved everything! We didn't rent a golf cart and found getting around on bikes to be just fine. I will say that it gets VERY dark in places on the path to and from the Campfire Sing-Along! Take a lantern or a big flashlight! Don't miss the path to WL- that was alot of fun to explore another resort. A big hit for my kids was the arcade was set to FREE on all games over the weekend! Yepee! Loved, loved, loved the Fort and have already made ressies for next year but will be staying for Halloween next year! The activity list for this year looked like tons of fun )
