Just got back from the Dolphin!!! I had never stayed there before so I was alittle concerned. It was great!! The staff is customer service orientated!!! Excellent! The room was good sized- although the bathroom was a bit small. Easy walk from Epcot- in fact we beat the ferry boat back to hotel. Only complaint not enough lounge chairs by the pools- very difficult to find any where to sit. Anyone have any questions??Ellen:Pinkbounc

Hi Ellen! Glad to hear you had a great time. We heading to the Swan in June with a 3 yo in tow, and I'm wondering what kind of things there are to do around the hotel. We're accompanying my husband while he's on business for the first few days, so my son and I will just be exploring within the hotel vicinity. Then we'll hit the parks when all three of us can go together!

Did you eat at any of the S/D restaurants or the Boardwalk? Any recommendations?

Any info you can give me would be great. Thanks!

Athena

Hi Ellen,
Sounds like you had a nice time at the Dolphin! Did you have a balcony or a view? Did you have a starwood card? If you did, was it useful to get a comp upgrade? It must of been a busy week if all the lounge chairs were being used? I know alot of schools had last week off. Thanks for posting about your stay at the Dolphin!

ellenc glad you had a great time. We were there the week before and the pool was empty. By fri and sat it started to fell up and by sat evening we had to scout around before we could get cahirs too!

We stayed at the Swan during Easter break in 2001, and by 1PM there were no chaise lounge chairs to be found. A nice lady working on her tan told us to simply ask the CM's handing out pool towels to find chairs for us, and within 5 minutes, he was bringing us 4 chairs!

We had a water view which was great!!! We did not have a balcony but that was o.k. considering I had the great rate of $129. We mostly ate at the parks- Italy,Japan,China and the Crystal Palace, etc. We did eat breakfast and lunch at Tubbies the 24 hour cafe at the Dolphin- great thing to remember 20% off with your DC card. I did not know that the CMs would find you chairs- believe me there were lots of people looking for chairs and I didn't see any CMs looking for any chairs for anyone- It just was a busy week down in Disney. Anything else??

Hi ellenec, Gald you had a great time! I am off to the Dolphin in Oct/Nov with DH and 3 kids (12,9 and 5) Can't wait! Did you use Camp Dolphin at all? If so any good? We are hoping for a quiet meal somewhere one night without kids and thought we might use it.
What about eating in the hotel and transport to Universal/ Seaworld? We won't have a car.
Thanks a lot.

We used Camp Dolphinin April 2001, and we were very pleased with their care. Then it was $8.00 an hour per child, but I think the rate has been raised to $10.00 an hour. It includes their dinner at the Dolphin Fountain, and tokens for the arcade. There is an exceptional woman there, her name is Thelma! She is full of personality and she even remembered us when we returned a year later!

I highly recommend Camp Dolphin!

Ellen,
Did you join www.starwood.com before you left? There are some perks associated with the free membership. I just noticed you are from Milford, CT! I live in Woodstock, CT, so hi neighbor and welcome home!~
