Just back from the CR.....

Where did you stay, wing or tower? What weren't you impressed with, the theme, the resort, the staff or all of the above.

We just got back from a three day stay at CR and we just loved it. This is our third trip to CR, only second in the tower, the wing was nice too, but I have to say I would only stay in the tower from now on.

The CR is my sentimental favorite resort having stayed there 5x. I prefer the Tower. I am now a Swan/Dolphin fan!

Maybe that was the problem!!

I just thought the resort was dirty. The pools were filthy. Duck droppings EVERYWHERE. Although the pool was well staffed-6 lifeguards- they did not clean up the many piles of duck doo doo. There were things at the bottom of the pool that were NOT leaves-gross.

The elevator that we used frequently, had the same trash on the floor the WHOLE week.

Housekeeping was terrible-long story- but I was not impressed with their work or attitude!!

And the guest services were not at all helpful in trying to find a local walk in medical clinic. (3 yr old was sick) They kept pushing the on call doc. We could not afford that and insurance did not cover on call docs. I found out that most hotels give a courtesy ride to the Fl. health care clinic located near DD. Our hotel NEVER offered and it took them 15 minutes to give me the name of the clinic.

This was just a few on the list of things I was not happy with. I have NEVER complained about a Dis hotel before but I will with this stay. We have stayed at the all stars before and had great service etc. I guess maybe my hopes were too high staying at a deluxe.

But there were a few plusses-we watched the water parade every night from our room. Wishes fireworks music was piped in on the fourth floor, Chef Mickeys , easy walk to MK.

I'm glad you all had a good experience. I think we just were on the wrong wing, woith the wrong CM checking us in, with the wrong HK staff for our room etc. Oh well.

I understand that. We stayed at the WL and we hated everything about it. We found it dark, dirty, cramped, HK was terrible and the food was blah. However I read such love for the WL, I didn't have that experience.

Then we switched to the Contemporary and we loved it. We went to the Tower and the Conceigre and had a blast. The rooms were clean, HK was great. We watched the EWP from our balcony and other fireworks too. I have heard bad and good things about the wings. I hate that your stay in the room was bad, but don't give up on the resort. If budget permits, try the tower.

that stinks first off that your 3 y.o. was sick, and I'm surprised about the staff usually they are on top of things there. They should have medical information readily available for the guests, I hope your child is okay? I thought the pool was dirty too, mostly with leaves, it was rather windy and I did notice they didn't try too hard getting them out. I have a resort report I am going to be posting in a little while that talks about that. I didn't see any Duck Droppings though, gross! lol

I would definitely give the tower a try the next time, it's really a different experience!
