We just stayed returned from the Contemporary North Wing. We were on the bottom floor with a garden view. We loved everything about the resort--especially the location. We could walk to MK in about 10 minutes. We did have to wait to check in a little later so we could have a North Wing lower level room. We enjoyed the patio and with a stroller it was nice not having to deal with the elevator. Our room was just a couple of minutes from the Food Court and the escalator to the monorail. There is also a playground on the North Wing side. We could walk outside and see Wishes.

The room was HUGE. We loved having a daybed for our oldest son to sleep in. We let the 2 year old sleep in a big bed with pillows on either side. There are fridges and coffee makers in each room. The coffee in the rooms is much better than what's at the Disney restaurants. The bathroom was also large with two sinks and plenty of counter space. Housekeeping did an excellent job.

The room colors weren't as loud as I thought they would be. I would never choose the curtain and bedspread patterns, but the walls were a pale yellow with one wall painted blue. My husband didn't think the pool was as nice as the Swan/Dolphin, where we usually stay, but I liked the hot tub at the Contemporary. They also have a little fountain that kids can run through and play with the squirting water. They are doing some construction next to the pool. It looks like the bathrooms will be there, but there must be something else as well.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Sounds like you had a nice stay! Thanks for posting!

Just a tip, though, at most Disney resorts, you can get bedrails. My sister got bedrails at the Poly for her daughter when she was about two (almost three), and my niece slept in the day bed.

I love the CR! I think the construction by the pool is a rehab for the counter service restaurant there. It was partially shut down when we were there in Dec.

Kteacher--That makes sense. I didn't see a poolside restaurant at all. Whatever they are building has a very nice gazebo-like roof to it.

Do they give you more coffee every day?

Have they started any of the contruction/refurbishment of the CR itself? I'm not sure when it's supposed to start or end. Welcome back!! :wave2:

Thanks for the review - I'm staying in a garden wing room this May for one night and have been curious. I haven't stayed there since when Epcot opened so it's been a while. :)

and we really liked it too! Our rooms must have been close, we were also in a North Garden room, first floor, close to the main building (7115) from the 16th-23rd. We could see the playground and bay lake from our patio. I was surprised that the rooms weren't as bright as I was expecting. Also loved the size of the bathroom.

I already miss it....

Yes, they bring you new coffee everyday, at least enough for 2 pots. We usually made one pot in the morning and one in the afternoon or evening. They also bring some tea bags.

I didn't notice any other construction except that by the pool. The major rehab is not scheduled for anytime in 2005. I did notice some construction over at the Poly.

Kris--I probably walked by your room. We were in room 7137, just a few steps from the main door with the red awning.

We will be at WDW Spring Break '06!!! March 11-18, to be exact. I'm seriously looking at CR. My MIL will now be going with us and we need more 'space' in our room.

I have memories of being in the lobby of the CR from when I was 5 at WDW in 1975. And to be right there with the monorail and Chef Mickey's will be another Disney dream come true. Plus I know my DD10, DS4, and DS1 will love it!
