Just Back from the August 16th Disney Magic!

Hello everyone...

We`ve been waiting for that cruise for almost 2 years, and it`s already over !!!
What a wonderful experience, i think words alone can not describe the magical time we had. You really have to experience it to fully understand it...
-
Sorry we missed the meet on saturday, but we had such trouble getting down to Florida friday due to the blackout, that while on deck 9 for the sailaway party we forgot everything and just thanked God that we were actually ON the ship.
-
But we still had the privilege of meeting some of you; ALL wonderful people (Sarah, thank you again for the generous offer)

-
Jason made a very nice trip report earlier,so the only thing we can add is that we did the dolphin swim (now called the ROYAL SWIM) and it is trully an amazing experienced that we will remember all of our lives !!! Such big creatures but still so gentle
WOW...
-
Also did the horseback ridding with Honeysuckle beach rides and it was perfect, a bit too hot but still very special. I know there`s been some bad comments on them, but i can assure you that we were received like we were friends of the familly and everyone was extremely nice, the horses are well taking care of and they all look healthy. We even stoped at a local store on our way back and they paid for refreshments for everyone...If you like horseback ridding on the beach i highly recommend it.
-

Our team of servers , Andrew,Glenndean and Ferdinand(cabin host) we`re great, especially friday night for Danyka`s birthday
We had great people at our table, Paul and Maureen, Dennis,Liz and Holly , even tought of bringing a little something for DD`s birthday!!! We tough it was very nice of them.THANK YOU

And finally, yes , we ALL had tears in our eyes friday night during
``Till we meet again``Some more than others....What a special way to say goodbye

It was trully a MAGICAL voyage and we think that no other vacations can beat a week on the Disney Magic....we will go back for sure....

See ya all very soon....

Stephane, Line and Danyka

Hi JoAnn - nope, sorry, rebooking doesn't do it for me. We're booked for a sailing on the Wonder in November and it's not soon enough! Of course, if I had a Magic cruise to look forward to this year, I may be okay, but then again, maybe not! :( I think I will be worthless tomorrow at work! I haven't even OPENED our suitcases. <sigh>

BTW, does anyone else ITCH?! I must have a couple dozen bites from Castaway Cay!

I thought I was the only one with bug bites. They really itch.

When are you sailing in November? We are scheduled for the November 6-9. It is a long weekend for the schools here.

For those suffering with the itchies. I took a zyrtec when I got home and it feels much better. Try any type of antihistamine.

Hi to everyone, so glad I got to meet many of you!

Believe it or not this was my first chance to check disboards since returning. I had just as big an 'adventure' getting home as I did getting to the ship during the blackout. My flight to Baltimore (thanks to re-routing because of the blackout) was delayed and since I live in NJ I had them give me a flight to Newark and then took Amtrak back to Baltimore for my car. All was fine with me, I got to sleep in my own bed Saturday night and I figured I'd have a nice day trip in Baltimore Sunday BUT I forgot Sunday night traffic is a bear and it took twice as long as usual to get home.
All that made me miss the cruise even more, I can definitely be counted in on the Post-cruise depression list.

Anyway despite the transportation challenges before and after EVERYTHING was great. (Even the rain on CC, I found it fun)
And I must also second the vote that if anyone has the opportunity...you MUST do the Dolphin Swim at Chankannab (Note: this not the encounter excursion from Disney ) It was worth every penny.

I also wanted to put in my plug for Captain Bryan's they were great too. Nice small group, beautiful timarran sail boat and great guides!

Hope to see you all again on another cruise!

vcasey: so sorry to hear about all the trouble you had getting home. I thought we might have been the worst off with the 18 hours it took but I think you get the trophy. glad to hear you made it home though and it was a pleasure to meet you on the ship.

jennifer: sorry to you too to hear that you and your son are ill. hopefully, you will feel better soon. at least you had the day off to recoup before going back to work. thankfully, I had today off as well (and tomorrow too) which is good as I'm still depressed. by the way, since it was opened up - do you want to share your good news with those who haven't heard it???? (yes, the curiosity is getting the better of me) however it may be private and personal so that is ok too!

Surprisingly Donald did not get any bites (and he was snorkeling for at least an hour). Does this sound like the dreaded Sea Lice or some other type of bug?

Hope everyone else is adjusting...I keep thinking in my head of what I'd be doing at every moment if I was still on the ship. Oh well, it will always be one of my most cherished memories.

I think it was something other than sea lice. I saw this thing that looked like hornets flying around but their stings only felt like mosquitoes. I have a couple on my hand and one on my side but most are on my legs and ankles. I due have one awkward bite that I witnessed occur to me. It was on my ankle while I was playing Volleyball. This bug kept flying back and bit me on the ankle I'd swat it then it would move to the next ankle and back and forth until I killed it. I have a line of dots all within an inch that this thing bit me in however they do not itch. Interesting!

Scott...I'd love to tell you my good news! Joe and I are not married yet. I just always refer to him as my husband because we have been together for almost 5 years. So while eating dinner at Palo on Tuesday, he proposed to me. It was all very romantic. He had a dozen roses brought in from Grand Caymen ( which earned him brownie points just for that). Then when Erika brought out dessert, she said that she had made up a dessert just for me. (Which I was intrigued about.) So when I lifted the lid, on the plate were ice chips, flower petals and in the center was a ring box. Of course I cried. Apparently everyone in the restarant knew what was going to happen. (except for me) So I'm thinking about an August 2004 wedding. Then when we go on our 2nd disney cruise on August 21, it will be our honeymoon.
Needless to say, it was a vacation to remember!!

Jennifer

Wow! I'm having chills!!!! Congratulations!!!!!! Best wishes, how romantic!!!!!!!!!!!

What an awesome way to propose! It's the kind of story that you'll be proud to tell your grandkids. Much happiness to both of you and the three fine young men that you're raising together.

DW and I were sitting at the table right next to you. I was the one that made the comment to you as we were leaving that the beautiful roses made all of the other guys in the room look bad and the ring really did us in :) Regarding everyone else in the room knowing...our waiter alerted us right before it happend and then the photographer just happend to be there. As my wife said, you could not ask for a more beautiful romantic setting than onboard the Magic in Palo.

Congratulations again!

Oh Jennifer that is such wonderful news.

My eyes started tearing up just reading your post. How incredibly romantic (what a guy!!) and what better place to do it.

I'm very happy for you both! Congratulations.

Thank you very much everyone!! It means so much. He is a great guy. I'm a very lucky lady to have him.:D

Jennifer

Wonderful news, Jennifer, and such a stylish proposal!!! Hope you guys are all feeling better now.

My itchy bumps are a little less itchy today. My dh didn't get any bites and the only place we were that he wasn't, was sitting on the loungers underneath a coconut palm. Lots of bushes nearby, so maybe it was some sort of "nitsy" bug like "no see um's". The nice thing about them is, every time they itch I think about Castaway Cay,lol!

DH is back at work today, I don't think he wanted to go. I'm just about finished with the laundry. I'm depressed just typing this.

OH!! We got our DVD from Captain Marvin's!! It was wonderful to see everybody and all the fish I didn't get to see while my Dsis was trying to drown me :) . And I was disappointed that they didn't catch her trying to stand on your head, Jason. LOL,LOL,LOL

* We saw the adult Dueling Pianos on several occasions and I can now appreciate Rae's ranting and raving about Fidelio and Anton. I had encountered Dueling Pianos on my other Disney Magic cruises and was not at all impressed but these two performers did an outstanding job! I only hope that Disney doesn't do away with them and their show. However, from comments made by the two performers and others on the ship, it seems that my wish might not come true.

* The $400.00 onboard credit IS in effect for only the new Eastern Itineraries. We booked the September 4th, 2004 Eastern with ports of call of San Juan and St. Thomas. This was $799.00 for category 11 on deck 7. We hope to book the week before or the week after this date when they release the Florida Resident rates so that we can sail on back-to-backs.

* Stingray City is a must. Great fun to watch everyone scream and thrash around in the water.

Glad to know that Momma Rae struck a right cord with you on the Dueling Pianos - I still can't believe that the Disney Powers That Be are going to replace these two talented musician/entertainers. Go figure. Yup, Fidelio rocks!!!!

Back to back - ohhhh! How wonderful! Just glad to know you will be on the September 4 cruise with us!!!!!! HURRah!

re: Stingray City - yeah, the screams.....the thrashing ..... you will Never get me back into the water....I saw "JAWS"..

Congratulations - that's such a great way to propose to someone.

I hope you and your DS are feeling better - mine started coughing yesterday and I think we'll visit the doctor today (I have a bad feeling it's bronchitis again):( Looks like he's going to miss 6th grade orientation today.

Back to reality.:(

Congratulations Jennifer! :D

Glad to hear that you're considering the Magic for your honeymoon. Perhaps you could invite the extended family for a cruise the week before your honeymoon cruise, get married on the ship, and then honeymoon on it as well!

A back-to-back wedding/honeymoon cruise! :D

Well, we finally made it back to Toronto, after a marathon 24 hours of driving and this is our first chance to get on the computer.

We just wanted to say it was a pleasure to meet everyone on the ship and we had a great time.

We look forward to doing it all again.

Talk to you all soon.
