Just Back from the August 16th Disney Magic!

Thank you Marcotta, Max123, Jeanny, Mjasp and everyone!!!

I was really not in the best of moods yesterday as far as having to see the end of our cruise. I am always surprised at how much it really affects me. Talk about a depressive mood!

Well, it's slowly getting better. Having all of you to talk to and the Dis Boards to read through helps a lot. Also knowing that we'll be on the Magic again helps out too. I'll have to get started on the September 4th Disney Cruise List site!

It was really a lot of fun to put the site together and I'm very glad to see that it was a help to people. It was also very nice to meet you and your family! I'm very glad you made it to the Dis Meet. I'm also glad to see that you have another cruise on the Disney Magic booked. Soon you'll be up to number four (or more)!



Marcotta--

Thank you for the Birthday wishes and for the nice "celebration" that you arranged for both Travis and myself at dinner. Although I usually don't do well in those situations, it was still a nice thought. (I'm still in recovery from all of the attention. )

Thank you so much for taking the time to introduc yourself during brunch in Palo! I'm sorry we missed you at the Dis Meet but it looks as if you ended up meeting most of the Dis crew anyway. So glad you ended up on DCL (with our group) rather than RC!



Jeanny--

Thank you again for the pictures of the Magic. They turned out quite well! Soon you'll have your own web site I think!

We should start a 12 step "after cruise Dis-program"...

I think this is an exceptional idea! OK, I've already admitted to myself that I'm a Disney addict WAY beyond help and I've rebooked another cruise. Should I book more?! I don't know what to do!!!

Hey everyone, we made it home.
I just want to say that we had an amazing trip and it was so nice meeting all of you. I am now officially hooked now. We now have 2 cruises booked for next year.

Max123...we also booked next year for Aug. 21. See ya then.

Marcotta....Don, I'm sorry you were not feeling well for our brunch. If you guys book for next year, we will have to do it then. P.S. Don--I love the new screen name.

Lisa & Tom...It was very nice talking to you while we waited at the airport (for our delayed flight.) Thanks for the tip at Cozumel, it sounds like you guys had an awesome time there!

We had Plamen & Mihaela fo our servers. They were exellent. Especially Mihaela. She was outstanding. We are going to request her for next year. We also had Erika for both brunch and dinner at Palo. She made everything perfect.

Well, I guess I better get some laundry going. I'm sooo glad I also have tomorrow off. I have half unpacked suitcases everywhere!

I loved the cruise it was so much fun. The weather was beautiful, It might have been a little hot on some of the islands but other than that it was beautiful. We didn't have any big waves either.

Sorry everyone that I couldn't make it to the official disboards meeting. I didn't know about it because I was on vacation a few weeks before the cruise I must have been gone when you made the plans. I can send you a picture of me if you want.

I met Buzz632 and vcasey on the cruise and I did see threecircles every once in awhile.

I can't belive someone would ask for a refund on the cruise because of the weather. It was only about an hour of rain.

I was in the talent show, for those of you who went to see it I was the first to do my act.

Hello all!

We just got back an hour ago. It's a long way back to California. While part of me is happy to be home, the rest of me is battling a severe case of depression! I contemplated starting a new thread about why we subject overselves to depression (aka post-cruise syndrome). Are the highs worth the lows?

Okay, 'fess up! Was I the only one crying yesterday when we disembarked?! I did, however, manage not to cry on my server yesterday morning (which, I am sure was a great relief to him!) - I made it all the way out of the restaurant before crying!

Linda1 and her family came over to say hello to us at DTD yesterday afternoon. They go home tomorrow. They had some problems with credit card fraud. Check your credit card statements! If you need more details, please email her or me.

I managed to catch up with VerandahMan at the Radisson yesterday morning. I also met Moosysmom. Andy, as you all can imagine, was so excited he was literally shaking! Andy brought three 256MB cards so I'm sure there will be lots of pictures posted upon his return.

Marcotta, don't forget to send us an email so we can see you when you are here. Ashleen is up in your neck of the woods this week; I fly up to get her Saturday. She will be thrilled to see you! Travis, I will try to send you some pictures later this week. The group shots came out well.

Disney3144, I hear that congratulations are in order! Although we didn't get a chance to meet, Lynr told me about your happy news! Congrats!

We met many sincerely wonderful people. Thank you all for sharing this magical cruise with us!

Post-Cruise Depression. You mean PCD? Yes, I think I have that and yes, it should be in the DSM-V when it is released. We would make excellent case-examples of it, wouldn't we?

As far as the crying thing goes... I just about lost it on numerous occasions! During Disney Dreams, the Farewell Show, saying goodbye to the servers on the last night *and* again in the morning. Walking down that gangway on that last Saturday is just about the worst!

In all seriousness, I was really asking myself this morning if it was indeed worth feeling like this by taking another cruise. In the end, I know it is!

I'm so sorry to hear about Linda1's difficulty with her cards! Travis had the same problem on the Eastern in May. We rented a car in St. Maarten and used his Disney Visa. On his next statement he had $900 worth of suits and electronics bought in New York! Please tell us this wasn't the Stingray City excursion that she may have had the problem with!

Glad to see you made it home okay!

I just finished picking all the suitcases off the floor so I know what you are going through Jennifer. How can UNpacking be so sad. I kept wanting to put everything back in.

Sarah, depressed is an understatement! I was telling Donald today what a big let down it is - not having anything to plan for, meeting lots of wonderful people and then just leaving them a short time later. I, too fought back tears during Disney Dreams and especially the Farewell Show...I just couldn't fathom "farewell." I know there will be more cruises in the future and yes, it will be worth it but I was really getting used to not having to make the bed, not cooking my own meals and all the surrounding "magic." I hope the depression doesn't last too long.

Oh well.

Yes, we will definitely let you know when we are coming down...can't wait! It will be like a mini-extension of the cruise.

ok,ok I'm feeling better now that I vented.


Believe it or not, I'm not depressed! I was so depressed last summer. This time I am content. We rebooked next summer. I know that there is NO WAY that any cruise will be as good as this summer's but I was so happy. The CMs were better than last year. (Imagine that!) People are starting to look familiar all over the ship!! Servers, room stewards, etc. It's really neat to see people from year to year. The staff is so professional. I really felt good seeing people like Ellen and SheShe. Ellen told us of her future plans and we wish her the best.

Disney programming is so well done that I'm just glad we have had the chance to enjoy it!! They have the best ideas!! I told my oldest DD that she should intern with the Disney corporation. As a Communications major I think she would do well with this company.

I think the BEST antidote for PCD is rebooking!!!!!!!!

Hi JoAnn - nope, sorry, rebooking doesn't do it for me. We're booked for a sailing on the Wonder in November and it's not soon enough! Of course, if I had a Magic cruise to look forward to this year, I may be okay, but then again, maybe not! I think I will be worthless tomorrow at work! I haven't even OPENED our suitcases. <sigh>

BTW, does anyone else ITCH?! I must have a couple dozen bites from Castaway Cay!

We just got home a little while ago so I will have to read this very long thread tomorrow. Very, very, very tired.

I'm so sorry to hear about linda1's credit card problems. I just checked my Disney Visa statement and everything seems fine

As far as the itching - join the club. It started at the Radisson and new bites have popped up everyday.

FYI - DS was chosen for Mousekeer and won $175 onboard credit. (they asked us really hard questions). If we had been the first ones I was up to $225 with no lifelines used. But he was so excited.

Things to do today. Pick up cat #1 and mail from DM. Pick up cats 2 & 3 and dog from Kennel. Do loads of laundry. Fill refrigerator. Do more laundry. Sort through e-mail......

Can I go back now?

DH and DD seem to be ok, but I have a couple dozen bites as well and boy do they itch.......

I had a spa massage on Thurs pm and the attendant told me that CC has lots of bugs and that I should wear plenty of bug spray, which I did. However I do not think I reapplied it after the drenching showers we endured.....

Off to work now :-( everyone have a nice day.

Lucky me, I did not get any bites. However, all 3 boys did. They have been itching like crazy. Mostly on thier legs.

DS 11 and I caught a cold though. We are both really sick today. I'm glad I don't have work today. Gives me one more day to shake this cold off.

I am sorry to hear that some of you were also bitten. I normally "attract" bugs - as in, if I'm standing next to my friends or family, the bugs will bite me and not them! I sprayed 100% DEET all over myself before leaving the ship, on Castaway Cay, and we went back to the ship right after the rain. But I do feel better now that I know that it's not just me! I guess in this case, there's comfort in shared misery!

Chichihoney - everyone is fine. Ashleen is in San Francisco visiting her cousins this week. She says hello to everyone!
