pixiedust: Hi!! We just returned from SSR yesterday. We had a one week stay in a 2 BR in the Springs!! We had an amazing time!! So amazing that I'm already planning our next trip and trying to figure out how to add on some more points. Actually, I'd be ready to go back right now. In fact, I'd really like to just move in there.

If you see Eugene the bellman, tell him I said hi!! He's the best!! pixiedust: He drove us to Wilderness Lodge on a slow night, but shhhhh, don't tell anyone. I figured it was just our little bit of pixie dust!!

I also met a fellow DISer and DVCer - Jacksmom99  in the Adventurer's Club. Kungaloosh!! I met her DH too, but I don't think he told me his screen name!! We discovered that we were both DISers when I commented on her Crocs and we then shared our mutual obsession with trip reports! :cheer2:

Maybe I'll start working on a trip report soon before I forget all about our vacation!!

Wow You must of had fun!! We are going home for the first time in Dec. I know we will love it like you did!

All these great reports are making me so excited!! I may not sleep until my November trip "home"! We're staying in a 2 bedroom too. I'm so glad you had a good time.

We probably saw each other and didn't realize it. We were in a studio in the Springs through the 14th.

Yay! I love reading positive threads! We are going on our first DVC stay in Oct. (SSR) but we bought at the BCV. I toured SSR in Feb. and loved it also. I just can;t wait til I get there

If you saw us, you'd remember us - I've got red hair and so do 2 of my boys!! My middle son has brown hair like DH. We also had my mom with us. Did you spend much time down by the pool??

Thanks for the report!

Did you visit Community Hall?

I want to move to SSR too, but in Congress Park :goodvibes

We passed through Community Hall on our way to check out. I was afraid that with the Playstations in there, my boys would never ever want to leave. I think they were experiencing serious GameCube withdrawal!!

I'm planning 2 trips now - one next September to celebrate my 40th birthday :sad2: (just me and DH) and one in February 2008 with the boys. I'd like to plan some more downtime into the next family trip so we can enjoy some of the activities in Community Hall, but not the Playstation!! :rolleyes1

Another "thanks" for a positive report! :sunny:
Sometimes these boards seem filled with complaints, even sometimes, to the point of nastiness! :sad2:
We'll be at SSR in Oct., and we can't wait!

Glad you had such a good time. I love SSR. We stayed in Congress Park and found that walkway to DTD great. Did you eat at The Turf Club? What did you think of it if you did?

But I think I might like to try Springs next time. No special reason except it's closer to "The Spa"!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We didn't get to go to the Turf Club, but hopefully next time!! DH said it looked really nice when he peeked in.

I didn't have a chance to use the Spa, but it's another item on my list of things to enjoy at SSR!! :goodvibes

We actually did eat in the Turf Club and was quite pleased. I'm hoping to see the menu expand. Now, it's the same for both lunch and dinner and it's a little limited. But the food was very good as was the service!

And the Spa.....I went for a manicure and pedicure and to be quite honest; it was one of the best I've had. Pricey; but wonderful! The only other time I raved about a service like this was from another Spa here in New York!! This has been added to my "to do" list at SSR from now on! :rotfl:

We ate in the Turf Club Aug. 15th for dinner... New york steak $19.99, Angus Burger $11.00, Herb Chicken $15.00, fish dinner(maybe salmon) $15.00
penna pasta shrimp $13.00. salads, appetizers, desserts.
lunch was about the same but you could order a cornbeef sandwich $10.00
we had asked if we could get the cornbeef for dinner and they said, yes, but would take a little time to pull out all the fixings.
the food was very good, prices very good, the view was great. they do have seating outside but it was way to hot to sit outside.
we did not have ressies, but i would suggest making ressies, since this restaurant will become popular. There was a group of 10 that just showed up right before us and they were very upset and rude to the cms because they had to sit at two tables and could not have the same waitress. It wasnt the point about two tables but because of not having the same waitress, weird!
On our last day we went to the yacth club galley at 5pm to eat and we were
refused to eat there because we didnt have ressies. there was a total of 5 families eating at that time and about 40 or so tables open. we even called dining and the next opening to eat at was 8:20. we then went down to Cape Mays and walked right in with no ressies, i just dont get it. I am starting to find out that making ressies is the way to go and you just cant walk up anymore.
