Just Back From SSR -March 28

We just returned from our first visit home to SSR. We had a great time, and thanks to all of the posts, I've read on this board we really had the inside info. At check in- we were scheduled for Carosel, but I had read about the distance from the main area and asked for another option. We had a lovely 1 bedroom in Congress Park. Congress park is just a short walk to DD and has a very nice pool area. Of course my 8 yr old DS wanted the Big Slide at the main pool.

What I would do differenly--- slow down and enjoy the resort more. It was our first WDW family trip, and I overplanned.

Nice you had a great time! I myself have a tendency to overplan, there is some enjoyment in it pre-trip, but post-trip, I know I will tell myself that I overplanned (if that makes sense)...

So would you say that you liked Congress Park over the area right next to where you check in - I think it is the Springs. I thought I would prefer that and have asked for a room there as my first choice, Congress Park 2nd and Grand Stand third. What do you think - should I change. I'll be traveling with my Sis, BIL and my 4 year old nephew and this will be their first trip to Disney so I am trying to make it as special as I can. I think my nephew is still afraid of slides. Thanks.

Glad you had a great time, I heading down in a few weeks and have requested Congress Park 1 bedroom as well. I'm looking so forward to it! It seems everyone is posting excellent reviews lately!!

I still have a problem overplanning after many trips but it has gotten better. I love it when I do take the time to spend at the resort
