Our town has a Rib-fest every year and tonights band was Blondie. Deborah Harry turned 58 on 7/2, but she can still work the stage! Hootie and the Blowfish played Wed night, their drummer went to our H.S. (WELL, ONE OF OUR h.s.) They had to turn people away that night...pretty good bands for $5! And they best part was we could just walk up to see them:cool: Blondie has a new CD coming out titled "The Curse Of Blondie"...I love that! Happy 4th holiday all!

Wow! Now my DH has been a Blondie/Debbie Harry fan since 1978. I even found some of his high school books with pictures of her in them!

Anyway, I've only seen her on TV (There was a free concert on Directv, maybe a year ago) and she ROCKED!

She puts on an amazing show, and I'm glad you got to see it live.

my cousins and I rode a greyhound from Long Island to Fl. We had 3 cassettes with us: Blondie, the Cars, and the Grateful Dead.
Sure brings back some memories!;)

Boy...another blast from the past...brings visions of 'rapture'! They were one of my favorite bands way back when. I remember seeing them here in Detroit and then chasing their limo with my little yellow sports car! I don't know what we would have done if we had caught up with them but we tried, anyway. Those were the days!

That sounds great! But Debbie being 58... thats just.. well, wrong! OH wait... i'm old too... bbbwwawaaaahahhh!!!! LOL!!

Glad to hear she's is still performing... she's a very talented lady... great voice!

PS What happened to the other members of her old band? ARe any still with her?

By all accounts, yes...

Blondie still has most of, if not all of, its' original members. That's more than can be said for some groups (Beach Boys and Temptations, anybody?)

Glad you had fun...I've only seen 1 concert in my life (George Carlin, back in the days when I didn't care about a person's politics)

Sincerely,

John "anotherboardnposter" Kilduff

Only the keyboard player and I think the drummer were orig. members who were with when we just saw them....2 guitar players, second keyboardist and bass player were WAY too young. It sounded really good tho!

Hey FINFAN, you and I are neighbors!!! We did not make it to the concert but glad to hear you had fun! Dh and I did not think our 4 little people and my visiting 73 yr. old mom would enjoy the heat and crowds of Ribfest, maybe next year!

Is Blondie coming to the Philly area soon? I'd love to see them!

She was at the Tower, maybe last year... we couldn't make it that night or we could have gone.
