Day 1

Arrived about 5:30 pm and there were no rooms available on club level which is what we had booked so for the night we ended up in Tower 2 but had club level cards went over had a bite to eat and then went over to Universal and did Jimmy Neutron, Twister, Earthquake and Jaws, then went back to the hotel to go to bed for an early start the next day.

Day 2

Went back to universal did all of the rides and the room key for express access was the best thing going, my DH just looked at me and said you did good with this I love it had a quick bite at Mel's diner went back to the hotel to check into our room on club level which was not ready yet but we were compensated for our troubles by the assistant hotel manager for our troubles on check in day and this one finally got into our room and went swimming and rested then went back to the park at night to just explore the little side street, tribute to Lucy ect.

Day 3
Went to Sea World all I can say is the bus service to Sea World is not exactly very good, but sea world was OK.

Day 4
Went to Islands of Adventure, did I believe it is Dudley Du Rite Rick Shaw Falls not quite sure of the name of the log ride, and then went over to Popey's Rapids ride and got totally soaked, which was out intent as it was so hot, we were comfortable being soaked, did the rides inbetween, and then went to Jurasic Park and were warned about the River Ride and the big sharp tooth (T-Rex but my DD calls them sharp tooths) at the end and my 5 yr old DD knew it was coming, but when she actually saw it she got really scared and put her head down just as we were going down and when we came out and she looked at me she was covered in blood, she had hit her head on the cushioned bar and bit her lip, looked much worse than it was and she was fine after we cleaned her up. Went and had lunch at Mythos, that was one of the best meals we had. Went back to the hotel for a swim and some rest, we had just finished swimming when a little boy who was running from the play area to the pool slipped and split his head open, and got blood in the pool so then had to close the pool and treat it. That night the kids went to the Mariners club, and we went to dinner at Chop Chopp, which has very good, and the kids loved the club.

Day 5

Went back to Universal Studios to do the shows, first one was at Nickelodeon Studios which ended up being the highlight of our trip for my DD's. They had the kids in there seats and the parents in their seats, and they were looking for a kid to get slimed and all of the sudden we here the voice of the little girl who is getting slimed say her name and it's my 5 yr old DD so we are now the slime family I had to change her into other clothes we played the games and now it is time for the slime my 8yr old DD gets to pour the slime over her sisters head which made her very happy because she wanted to be slimed, and then they tell me I have 2 minutes to shower her get her dressed and get out, boy was that a challenge, but we did it and she was given a certificate did MIB Jaws again Then the rain came and our day was done and we were all tired but we did watch the fire works from the beach at RPR and explored all of the hotel to see were everything was and it is a beautiful hotel.

Day 6
Went to Wet and Wild and as I said the bus service is terrible took a cab home because of a storm that came in and the bus was not coming back for 2 hours but the cab fare was only $4.25 back to RPR which was well worth it to us then we went to City Walk and ate at Margaritaville, the DD's loved the balloon hats they got, and then did a little shopping and returned back to the hotel around 9:00.

Day 7
Went back to both parks to do the things that we had missed such as Animal Planet Live Show, the Wild west Show, Beatlejuice grave yard review, ET because the ride had broken down when we were in line, and Shrek 4D.

All I can say is on the plane home both my children said to me mom if we come back here can we go back to Universal and not Disney we liked the rides and show so much better and this was the best trip we have ever had and the club level was just great the food was good and the water, soda and coffee along with the fruit saved us alot of money wouldn't hesitate to stay club level again.

On club Level for breakfast it was the same every morning, danish 4 different types fresh fruit (watermellon, honeydew, kiwi) cereal, toast bagels with cream cheese both plain and mango, or butter and jelly.

Mid afternoon they had whole pieces of fruit and water, soda.

5 to 7 pm was beer, wine coffee, soda, water along with vegetables and dip, cheese tray and the main dish changed everynight, one night we had noodles with shrimp and crab in it another night was a beef dish with vegetables such as mushrooms broccoli onions and was really good another night there were sandwiches, turkey ham and cheese roast beef with a macaroni salad.

Then from 8 to 9:30 there were cookies, and little chocolates, and some gingerbread squares.

If you have any further questions I will be happy to answer them if I can.

Shelby,

Thanks for the report.

I really love this site and have picked up much great info for our first trip which will likely be sometime this winter.

How much extra is it for the "club level". What time does the club level open and close?

Can anyone answer if there are any supermarkets or Walmarts near the hotels???

We will be flying down and will likely get a rental car. Plan on going to Busch Gardens also.

Been over twenty years since my wife and I were to Orlando and I remember being more thrilled with Busch Gardens and Sea World than I was with DIsney.

I have two boys ages 7 and 5 and they just are not into the Disney thing much...SPiderman and Hulk kind of guys

There is a supermarket near, I think it is a Publix or Kash n Karry. Ask the concierge and they will print our directions for you. We got our breakfast rations and snacks at CVS. We used a cooler to keep the milk and juice cool. The shops in the RPR do not carry milk, so milk in a box like parmalat might be a good idea, too.

Deb

Deb,

What is CVS??

I would just be interested in cutting corners as much as possible since we are planning for a week long stay.

Probably could just by a cooler when we get there and stock up with items then ship it back with us on the plane.

Seems the onsites try to cover every angle to get every possible buck out of you.

Shelby - I enjoyed your report. How lucky were you and your family to get to spend 7 glorious days - get to take you time and really soak it all in. We were there recently for 4 nights. I could have easily enjoyed at least two more nights.

My kids now say "I miss Universal - when can we go back?" - instead of the previous "I miss Disney . . . ". Myself - I'm torn between the two.

How much does club level add to you per night rate?

Thanks. :D

CVS is the drugstore/convenience store chain that we use here in the NY area. During our stay in Orlando we had to refill DD7 scripts. The concierge at the RPR was really helpful and found us one nearby. We had our car, so it was easy to get there. CVS is similar to Eckerdt/RiteAid/Walgreens if you are familiar with any of them.

You might want to pack one of those collapsable coolers with you if you fly. That way you can fill it when you get there and use it to pack all those souveniers in on the way home.

Just curious about your screen name... is anyone in law enforcement? We are.

Hi there

Thanx for the great report...

How did the hotel compensate you when the Club Floor was full when you arrived? It must have been a pain to partially unpack and then move the next day.

Thanks for sharing.

Keep the reports coming everyone!!!

Deb

DEB,

We have the Walgreen and Oscos around here.

Collapsable cooler is a good idea, I thought I may as well just buy one down there and ship it back with "stuff"

And yes I am LE going on 13 years now.

Thanks for the great report!

I was interested in your experience at Nickelodeon Studios since this is something my son really wanted to do but I thought I read you had to be at least 9 or 10 for entry? He is only 8 and my daughter is 5 so I didn't think we would be able to do that - have the age requirements changed?

Thanks again!

Merci! Your review have been really helpful :D I live in Montreal and I'm planning a trip to USO around August 1st 2004. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions

1. You mentioned that the bus service to both Sea World and Wet n'Wild was terrible. What exactly did you mean by that?

2. Also, you mentioned that "every morning breakfast was the same..." Does that mean that with the club level you get breakfast, 5 -7 pm and 8 to 9:30 pm snack troughout the lenght of your stay?

3. Finally, did you book your room trough the USO site? I would like to know if the choice of having a free meal or a day at Wet n' Wild was included in your reservation.

Merci Shelby! :Pinkbounc

I believe what is meant by the bus service to Wet N Wild is that there is only one pick up and return time (i.e. 9:10 a.m. and 5:40 p.m.) So, that means that you are stuck at Wet n Wild until 5:40 p.m. if you you use the bus. If you do not have a car you may want to take the bus there, and then take a cab back to the resort. We had a car - so we just drove. It's a short drive time, about 5 mins. The conceirge desk will give you a card with directions to and from the place. I knew there was no way I wanted to be there for that long. :D

Thanx for sharing ~ Wonderful reports!!!!

How were you comp'd for having to change rooms! What a bummer.
