:woohoo:

Felt pretty good to be amongst the first to ride - there was a real party atmosphere going on. You had to show either DVC membership cards or Annual Passes, plus photo ID, to access it from both Dinoland and Asia. Standby was averaging 20 minutes and FASTPASS return was
approximately 1.5 hours out most of the time we were there.

The first time riding was pretty scary (for me, anyway, not knowing what to expect), but after that it was a doddle!

The limited edition pins (Passholder 1500 and DVC 2000) sold out. At $10.95 each, that's around $40K in Disney's coffers without accounting for all the merchandise sold (we spent $70 without even trying).

Thanks for sharing Deb - really looking forward to riding this in October. Does it really live up to the hype though?

Sounds like you had a good time Deb, what else have you been up to ?

Sounds fantastic ~ Thanx for posting.

thanks for sharing
when will it be open to everyone
most be shortly

Glad you enjoyed it!

Glad you enjoyed it, Deb. I am hoping to be brave enough to try it in April. What's the scary factor? Anything similar you can compare it to?

Well done Deb, I'm really considering this ride but am such a wuss I don't know if I could handle the big drop. I love BTMRR but am not keen on Splash or Space mountain so I'm not sure if I can do it.

Looks like a scarier version of Big Thunder to me, will find out in August. :)

It's basically an old-fashioned coaster ride with lots of BTMR style swoops (but bigger and faster), one big drop followed by a big upwards sweep, and a sensational (and surprisingly long and fast) backwards section which includes a sweep and a drop. I 'lost' my stomach twice - once during the big drop and once slightly at the end of the backwards section. For me it was just about right - enough to get my heart pumping, but not so much that I didn't want to get back on. I'm always encouraged when I see lap bars rather than shoulder harnesses!

I was terrified before I rode (I always am when I ride a coaster for the first time - it's not knowing what to expect). It's way more intense than BTMR. It's also more intense than The Mummy. People are saying it's a cross between BTMR and Space Mountain and I guess that's a fair comparison. There are no inversions (which I don't mind), so I wouldn't liken it to RnR.

Back in dreary England today. Can't quite believe that I was riding EE this time yesterday!

Highlights:

The villa - fab;
Reunion - wow! Can't imagine staying anywhere else in Orlando for a while;
Just chilling with my brother and sister-in-law. Didn't do a huge amount of Disney this time. Did a lot of eating and drinking, though :drinking: ;
Meeting up with Simon and Susan Veness, plus a reporter and photographer from the Orlando Sentinel. Watch this space! Maybe... :p;
Margaritaville, baby! Stayed one night at RPR and did US one day and I0A the next. However, the real reason for staying was to be able to enjoy ourselves without having to worry about driving home. Let's just say, we did it justice :teeth: ;
Seeing Aerosmith at the St Pete Times Forum in Tampa :hippie: ;
And the sneak preview of EE, of course!

Sounds like you had a FANTASTIC trip Deb, Lucky you getting on EE!

:sunny:
