My DH and I just returned from a weekend stay at POR. Just wanted to relieve the minds of those who will be traveling to this resort soon. The resort is beautiful and very quiet. Our room was very clean and Mousekeeping did a great job! We asked for an ironing board and extra towels upon arrival and had them in about 5 minutes. All of the CM's were helpful and cheerful, especially Dora at Fulton's General Store. (My DH wanted to have a lanyard with a pouch to hold his resort card in so he wouldn't have to take his wallet with him to the parks. Fulton's didn't have any for sale and when my DH asked where he could buy one Dora told him she had one in her car that she would give him if he could just wait for her to go out to her car. We thanked her and told her we really appreciated her kind offer. Talk about above and beyond service, who says Disney CM's are lacking in the desire to make guests happy.) This was my DH's first stay at a Disney resort and I wasn't sure he would ever go back again. (He is not as Disney crazy as I am.) He loved POR so much that he is already asking when I am planning our next trip. THANKS POR!!!!! I will gladly be returning to this resort next Fall.

POR is truly magical. As you can see from my signature, we really love it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it too!

Thanks so much for the review. I'm trying to research alot about the POR since my husband and I will be staying there next month. So far I'm reading that the landscaping is beautilful and the resort is quiet. Also that it has a great food court. What section did you stay in?
Thank God for you your husband enjoyed it so much that he wants to go back!

We've stayed at POR for several years and this last trip had to be one of the best ones ever! Glad to hear you had a great time--we need all the help we can get getting those relunctant DH's to go back to Disney....again and again and again....

Robinette

We stayed in the Mansions in the Acadian House section room 8230 (King Room) with a great view of the lawns and shrubs. We saw bunnies every night. We had a little bit of a walk to the main area, but it was so pretty we didn't care. I am sooooo glad it went well. Now I am planning my trip for next Labor Day!!! Yeah!! I am hoping POFQ will be open so we can try that out as well. We saw the backside of it when we took the boat to DTD. It looks so cool! I hope you have a great trip!!

Hi mkbroas. It sounds like you had a great trip. We stayed in at PO-Riverside in the AB section three years ago. It was still called Dixie Landings then. It was so relaxing, and our room was just perfect. I loved the rustic look of the rooms. I would love to go back someday. We are going back to WDW in December and are going to give CBR at try. I hope I like it as much as we did PO.

Heading towards the two digits countdown! ;)

Nice to hear a good report as we are also heading there next month for the first time. Can you tell me about the boat to DTD? Where do you get on it? Where does it drop you off? Does it cost anything? Any info would be appreciated!

Glad to hear you had a good time.
We stayed at Acadian House also and really liked it there.

halfway: the boat to DTD is free. It is a very nice 20 min ride down the Sassagola river. The driver usually gives you a little tour and points stuff out on the way. You get the boat at the marina and it will drop you off at several points at DTD. The Rainforest cafe is one of the sites.

Robinette: if you would like to read more about this resort, here is a link to my trip report in August:

mkbroas: we also found the CM's in the store to be the nicest. When I went back to purchase another pair of buzz lightyear sunglasses for my son (the buzz had rubbed off), the CM said to me "You can't expect him to wear glasses without Buzz on them" and she gave me another pair free of charge!

Thanks mkbroas, I did request a room in the mansion section.
firstmickey, I checked out your trip report. That was a cool surprise you pulled off!

Thanks firstmickey! I'm looking forward to that boat ride as we visit DTD on every trip practically! I'll also check out your trip report. However did you get to Disney in one day from PA?? You must have been driving like a madman, er woman! :D

halfway,
We left at 6:20 AM and pulled into POR parking lot at 12:30 AM.
The theme for the trip was Drive, Women, Drive! (we had two drivers) and we stopped alot! you will enjoye POR!

Thanks for your review!
I just love reading these comments, I can not wait for my stay there in just a little over 2 weeks. I really want to stay in one of the Mansions as they really seem to have the theme that I would like. I just can not decide which one to request, but I still have some time to think that over.

Thanks so much for the wonderful post, I'm SO excited because we've never stayed there before! I love hearing positive reports!!!

Thanks for a positive review. I 've been researching for a trip in May & thinking about POR. It's nice to see a positive review. Most of the ones I saw earlier were negative.
