We just got back from 6 nights at Riverside (5/30 - 6/4). We had probably the best trip to WDW we've ever had (and we've had a few). Great weather, crowds not too bad, plenty of time to relax as well as hit all the parks - everything was perfect. I'll be posting a trip report in a few days as well as a new website with pictures from this year's trip, but in the meantime will be glad to answer any questions.

Hi, glad you had a great trip! POR is an awesome resort (we love it). Did you notice any renovations going on during your stay? Did it seem unusually quiet there? Was part of the food court closed? Last but not least how was the bus service? Even if there were renovations going on during your trip, it doesnt sound like you let it bother you at all! Cant wait for the trip report!

Hi GaDisneyDad! Great to hear you had a good time. We will be there on Friday :p and we will be staying at the POR for 5 nights then moving to BC. My question is what building you stayed in and as mentoined before how were the buses? Thanks for filling us in on all the details.;)

hi Gadisneydad. Glad you had a great trip

Did you notice which buildings were closed for renovation??
Did you stay at AB or Mansions ?

We stayed in Building 27 of AB. Good location. We had heard that Building 14 was looking kind of run down, and Building 18 is smoking optional, so this was the next closest building to the food court. Our previous 2 stays had been in Magnolia Terrace, so we requested AB for a change. We really liked it. Both sections have their pros and cons, but I think we like AB better now - more peaceful, yet still close to the main building.

Bus service was fine, although the only bus stop open was the South Depot by the main building. Still not too crowded. We didn't see (or hear) any renovactions going on. There were some signs up on the paths through the 30's buildings saying they were closed for renovation. Also, there was a big planter box sort of barrier blocking the path down to FQ so we couldn't use the walking path down there. Middle section of the food court (between the bakery and the refrigerator section) was covered. I asked for beignets (sp?) at the bakery thinking they might be serving them there since FQ was closed, but no luck. Boatwright's looked empty every time we walked by. Bob was still performing in the lounge Wed - Sat from 8:30 - 12:00.

All in all, a perfect trip. Sorry for the delay on the trip report, but I've been busy catching up on work since I've been back.

Another GA dad here. We will be arriving at POR this Sunday. I would love to read your review if you have it done by the weekend. Since you've been there three years in a row, did you feel like there were less people in the resort this time due to the renevations?

Thanks

Darin

I did feel like it was quieter than in the past. Not sure if that was due to the renovations, although I'm sure that was part of it. We also have gone later in the month of June in the past, so I'm sure things are quieter the first week of June due to the large number of kids still in school. We deliberately left on my kids' last day of school to try to beat the crowds down and I think it worked. This is the first time that I can remember there only being one bus stop open.
