We just returned from a 7 night/8 day stay at Riverside w/DD5 and DS7. Just wondering if anyone has any questions.:)

We are staying at POR in 4 weeks...I have 3DD-31/2, 21/2 and 7mths...I've heard some nightmare stories about POR. Any advice? How was your stay at POR?princess: :cheer2:

This was our 3rd stay since 2004 at POR and we have never had any problems. I will tell you that the food court is closed which was inconvient at times. They are offering a continental breakfast in the river roost however you can not use the dining plan there. They are also offering a breakfast buffet whatever you can fit on one plate, including eggs, pancakes, bacon in the food court and this will count as one counter service. It really only bohtered us on one day, the others we had planned in the parks anyways. Since you have young children I would recommend requesting Oak Manor rooms, we have always stayed there and they are quite convienent. Have a great trip !!!

Did you use Magical Express? If so, how many stops did you have to make to other resorts on the way to/from POR and MCO?

We'll be there in October. We haven't stayed before, and were wanting to save money by not going too high end... but then POR looked so much nicer than the value resorts. Do you find it is worth the money?

Also -- do you happen to know why the food court was closed, and whether it will reopen?

Are they doing the refillable mugs since the food court will be a miss. Please let us know. Thank you

to answer your questions:

Magical Express-no we did not use it and we never have. It seems so much like a Mears situation and we did try that once and I was not very happy with it-too much waiting, having to leave way too early. The buses actually say something about Mears on them. We have used a car service the past 2 times and that has worked well. It runs about $100 round trip which is close to what you would pay w/Mears for a family of 4. However there is no waiting- the driver meets you at baggage w/a sign with your name on it and as soon as your bags come, away you go. You also have the option of a 1/2 hour grocery store stop if you want.

Refillable Mugs-I did use them this trip. We were able to use them at night prior to the food court closing. I did not try to use them after it closed, however I did see people filling them in the morning but not at night because you don't have access to the food court.

Value vs. POR- I feel that it is worth the money to stay at POR vs. Value. I love the atmosphere of POR. We also have never experienced problems w/noise and such that I have seen other people have at the value due to the number of kids. That's no to say that there aren't kids at POR because there definately are, but the noise factor is not there.

Hope that helped and let me know if you have anymore questions. :goodvibes

Our travel agent from MouseEarVacations hooked us up with American Towncar Services. It was $95 round trip for the 4 of us (not including driver tip of course).

We are considering POR for our October trip. Do you happen to know how long the food court is closed/under construction?

There is info about it on various sites that list closings -- try mousesavers.com. We are going to be there in Oct. 2007 too -- doesn't look like it will be a problem (I don't remember for sure but it is going to open up in a few months at most, I think).

What is the food court?
Where is River Roost?
We are going in June and want to know of a place to eat a quick breakfast. Nothing big, just a muffin of cereal
