This was our 11th trip to Disney. We normally stay at a deluxe or OKW, however, this trip (and two in the past at CSR) we opted for a moderate -POR- since it was going to be $130 more a night to do a deluxe. As in the past when we have stayed at a moderate, I felt like I was getting a bargain. One of the ONLY times I have felt as though I was getting a bargain at Disney! The grounds at POR were beautiful. The area with the food court, and the river running around the resort was very nice. Although we requested the AB section, we ended up at the Mansions, and thought they were very nice! The room felt more like a bedroom, than a hotel room, if that makes sense. Very comfortable for a family of four, which included 2 teenage boys. The only drawback was the double beds in the moderates compared to queen size at the deluxe resorts which can be a problem for some people. For the price, I feel you cant beat a moderate. However, after going to our favorite hotels to eat meals, such as the Poly, BC, and WL, I found I really missed being at a deluxe. Bottom line, we will stay at a deluxe in the future if the price is right. However, for this past trip, the WL wanted $60 more a night than what we had just paid there in April during Spring Break! Go figure.
That was our first on site resort and is very special to us. It will always hold a special place in our memories.
So unless there is some miracle and a BPR for next October, POFQ it will be. Now I just have to convince myself that I will be happy!
last week. For our family of 5 it was a great spot. We actually enjoyed the outside corridors. While the kids were falling asleep DW & I hauled the two chairs out of the room, sat on our balcony/corridor and enjoyed the peaceful evening and a nice drink.
