Hi!
We just returned from a wonderful, fun-filled vacation at WDW. We stayed our first 3 nights at POR and the remaining 4 at the POLY.

POR:
We checked in on Friday 5/13 at 11am. We were assigned room 8410 in the Mansions section in the Arcadia House. We were on the 3rd floor, corner room with a view of the river. The room was great! It must have been refurbished very recently. Everything was clean and bright. We had a nice refrigerator (larger than the POLY) that was encased inside of a cabinet. There was a 27" TV in the Armoir. (19" at the POLY). The beds were comfy and the comforters looked brand new. The walk to the food court was not very long and was very pleasant. Mousekeeping did a very good job and our room was cleaned early every day. I did laundry one afternoon while lounging by the quiet pool. The laundry facilities were awesome. The washers and dryers all looked new. My clothes were dry in just one drying cycle. We love POR and will definitely stay there again in the future! :)

POLY:
This is my favorite resort! We checked in on 5/16 at 9:00am. The lady who checked us in asked us if we had any building/room preference. We were not expecting this...and we weren't prepared (should have done more research).
So we requested the same building we stayed at last time...FIJI. We requested a 3rd floor marina/volcano pool view. We were give room 3315. Unfortunately for us, this room had not been refurbished yet. However, the view was spectacular! The TV is too small (19") and the refrigerator was very old and worn looking. One day mousekeeping forgot to clean our room.
Aside from that...The volcano pool slide is sooo cool! We love Kona Cafe and Ohana. I love the sights, sounds and smells at this resort! The walkways are beautiful and fragrant with the smell of gardenias. We love the POLY and will definitely stay there again!! :sunny:
Feel free to ask me any questions.

What bus stop is the Arcadia House (2nd, 3rd, etc)? We'll be using the bus for transporation during our stay.

Our bus stop was the North Depot. It was a very short walk from the backside of the building across the parking lot. We never had to wait very long for a bus.

How did the GCH look, I understand there was some renovation being done?
Oooohhh, I'd love to know this too!

Glad you had a great trip! Sounds wonderful!

Yes, on the first floor. The stores that used to be on the first floor all merged into one large store. This large store opened while we were there. The Wyland gallery moved from the front to the back near Capt. Cooks. I am hoping that they will renovate Capt. Cooks in the future.

Was the POLY worth the extre money ?

TIA pirate: ARRGGHH!

Was the POLY worth the extre money ?

TIA ARRGGHH!

We got a really good postcard rate for both POR and the POLY. We paid around $260 per night for the POLY. It was worth it! Some of the reasons are as follows:
The boat or monorail to MK
The monorail to Epcot
The walk or monorail to GF
The monorail to the CR

We split our stay between POR and POLY. We did MGM, Typhoon Lagoon and Downtown Disney while we were at POR. We did MK and Epcot while at the POLY.

The POLY is my favorite resort. I just love the relaxed tropical feel of it. However, I also love POR. Splitting resorts feels like 2 separate vacations. :goodvibes

We were also staying in Fiji, we were there til the 17th. We were across the hall in 3307 facing Luau Cove :flower: :flower:
