Just back from POP!

Hello all!

We just returned from a wonderful (although chilly) five days at the POP. It was my first time staying at POP and was very impressed. With a code we payed $55 a night and could see Wishes and Illuminations from our doorway! Also had a very relaxing view of the lake.

Weather was cold, but we watched the weather for two weeks before we left, and we expected that. So we packed accordingly!

We did Osborne Lights, Illuminations Cruise, CP and several Mousefest Meets.

Did meet several Disers, although, I'll have to check my notes for names.

Would be happy to answer any questions!

(I plan on doing a detailed trip report, but it probably won't be until the holidays are over.)

We stayed in the 50's, building #3, 4th floor, room #3413. It was a corner room.

Glad to hear you enjoyed POP I was just there too and had a blast....and stayed in the 50's building, I was able to walk right out of my room to the bowling pin pool! Cool!

My friend received one of the sought after email codes! I have never received one myself.

We just returned tonight (12/21) from 5 days at POP too. Had requested 50's but ended up in 70's. That was OK though because we had a view of the lake (and the sad looking unfinished early years) and had a perfect view of Wishes right from our room. Which was good because it was pretty cold last night.

We lucked out on a $49 e-mail rate that was hard to pass up.

you are to late - WDW quit having the discount codes very early this month - codes should be coming out for April (that wasn't covered), May, June shortly.

How was the Illuminations cruise? We booked the cruise for our trip in January. We are doing the Birthday party thing for my mom.

This was my second time doing the Illuminations cruise. This time, I did it with a group of mousefest folks. It was great, except it was freezing! Must have been close to 40 degrees. We were bundled up and the captain did supply blankets. While we were sitting under the bridge watching Illuminations, it wasn't too cold, but when the boat was moving, yikes!

The cruise is great. You take a ride around the Boardwalk and MGM first, then head over to Epcot. The fireworks seem like they are going to land on you sometimes! The captain can make or break your ride, but I have never had a bad one. This time we had Jeff and he was wonderful!!!!

I think you have the value season rate. There was a public code, but that ended awhile ago. The one we used was an email code sent out by Disney last Fall or maybe it was late summer. Did not receive one for stays beyond December. No one seems to know why some recieve an email or postcard code, but some do and you never know when it will show up...maybe every year, maybe never!
