:cool1: Just came back on the 17th of June from a seven day stay at Pop century. It was my first stay at Pop and it was nice but it wasn't no POR. I enjoyed Pop but I definitly perfer POR. My son is 14 and he also likes POR a little better. Pop was great but there is alot of younger kids. ALOT. The service was perfect. The food was so, so but it got old quick. The browny sundays were out of this world. I'm a body builder so I only get to splerge a couple times of year. The bar makes a good stiff drink. I had two Crowns and seven at the end of each day and they was always crisp and very much needed. Like I said, only a couple times a year.
The parks where great as always. The new stunt show at MGM was very entertaining along with the other new shows and rides at the other parks. Soaring was great and Everest was also great but very, very short. I did notice some of the maintenance at the parks wasn't as good as the Disney standard has been in the past. In my past visits everything always looked so new like grand opening. This time I saw handrails and gates with rust and chipped paint on railing. The carpets was stained in the buildings that held shows at Epot and the ride carts like at Energy was getting worn. They just didn't seem up to Disney standards.
This was the latest in the year I've ever been to Dis. The crowds were larger than I'm used to but they were very managable. I had to use FP on the Philharmagic 3-D show, soarin, and the Indiana Jones show. Everest was a 40 min wait and tower of terror was 30 min. Those was my two longest waits. Except for test track. The time said 40 min and I got out of line after 60 min. and I wasn't half way there. I noticed my last to visits the TT has to have the most inefficiant line of all the parks.
All the parks done a great of having all the characters like Mickey and Donald out for the younger kids to meet. I don't ever recall seeing them out and about as much as I did this trip. The young kids was loving it.
Overall it was another great trip to Dis. My wife and I want to do an adult trip soon. We are not to far from our 25th Wedding Anniv. We are thinking about the Poly, or the cruise.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I agree with you about the line at Test Track. That ride has so many breakdowns, it just seems like the line is always longer than expected. I only do that ride with a fast pass or the single riders line.

Thanks for posting!

thanks for your observations. I like to do test track on a fast pass too.....seems like the lines are FOREVER....
Thanks again

Thans for the report. I am Jonesin for a trip to Disney today for some reason. Don't know if I should be reading here, cause I think it's just making it worse.

I too have noticed some of the maintenance issues you mentioned. It's still a far cry above Six Flags, but I"m with you.

Blessings!

Hmmm interesting observations, thanks for sharing. My last trip to WDW was a whirlwind couple of days in '91. It'll be interesting to see how things have faired. Although that trip, I didn't even see MGM, PI, and what was then Discovery Island.

Thanks for sharing your trip.

POR and Pop are certainly different, but then you pay more at POR too. But I think Pop is a great place for a value, certainly my favorite in the value group.

I'm sure many dis-gal wold like a pic Donaldude - you being a bodybuilder and all. Glad you had a good trip and treated yourself. We love POR too but are giving POP a try so we can have a seperate room for the kids - connecting...
