Just back from POP - I'm now officially a POP snob!

Okay, this thread has me all psyched up to stay at POP again next summer. We did POFQ last year, and did not feel it was worth the extra $. The atmosphere was nice, but POP is so much more fun, and the food court is much better. Was considering a deluxe, but I really think Pop will be what we go with.

Just can't believe I am planning this 10 months out! I'll go crazy having to wait that long!!!

Hi! I booked POP, for next August, this morning. I have only stayed at AKL, my other two visits, so this will be a new experience. I booked standard non smoking. Should I request a higher floor? What buildings do you recommend that are close to the bus stop? At AKL, the bus service was great, how is it at POP? Are there more buses, more frequently, because of the size of the resort? Is the bus area covered? How is mousekeeping? Sorry for all the questions, but I guess I'm just nervous. Thanks for any responses.:)

I loved staying at Pop last year! I'm a bit bummed not to be there again this year.... But I'll see if All Star Sports is just as cool.... :confused3 I know Pop is a great place to walk around and enjoy yourself. I didn't get much further than maybe the end of the Generation Gap Bridge to the unfinished (wish they'd finish it!) section...

We were at Pop Dec 05 and really liked it. Went to AS Sports 3 months ago ....it just wasn't as "Disney" as Pop.

I booked a standard room for September 15-21. We really would like to be in the 50s or 60s building. Can I call and request that? If so, where? Central Reservations or POP directly? Or should I just wait until we get there? I am sooooooooo excited!

We were there in July (26-31) of this year for our third year in a row. We had requested the 50s, but we were assigned to the 60s building 4 - we were on the first floor facing the lake and the Legendary Years buildings which were never finished. We were in standard rooms, but we were very close to the Hippie Dippie pool and just a short walk from the main hall. This was really a perfect location. I would not want a room facing the pools, but I know others have not a had a problem with noise even then. I think the 80s building is really farthest from the bus stop/main hall, but it doesn't seem that far even. For us, we really wanted connecting rooms, so that was our priority really moreso than location and they were able to accomodate our request for connecting rooms AND give us this great location, so we were very pleased!

The buses are great - the longest we waited was about 15 minutes one morning and that was because we had just missed the first bus out (7:30am for a EMH AM opening - I forget which park). The queues for the buses are not covered but just behind that area is a covered area with benches and lots of people sat/stood there to wait when it was raining one day.

Mousekeeping is adequate, nothing extraordinary. We did get a couple towel animals on our last stay and in previous years we have had window displays with our kids animals hanging from curtains, etc.

Hope I caught most of the questions, if not, let me know!

Some of the 50's and 60's would be preferred location, but you can always request because other parts are not preferred in those sections. :)

Twice we've been in the farthest room in the 50's inthe Juke Box building (request for a pool view building 2) and it was right next to parking, about 4 mins walk to the bus and food court/main building. Very nice :)

We've also been closer, and we've had a lake view, which we loved, but if you want to feel more in the "action" the above is a great non-preferred location. :)

Oh, and do call reservations now and mention your request again at check-in - if they do not have a room they will show you map and you can ask about rooms that way too. The CM's are very nice and helpful :)

We have never stayed at Pop, but now I am excited after hearing you all talk about it!
