Hi,

We had a wonderful time at the POP hotel. We stayed in the 70's and loved it. close to everything, and quiet. the room was neat and clean, and our mouse keeper kept us 2 adults entertained with the places we would find my eeyore scrunchie!!!! loved the pools, food court, bus stop, gift shop etc......

Glad you had a nice trip!!!

Where was your room? I've put in a request for Bldg. A - top floor with a lake view. Last time we were ther we were late checking in and got stuck in the 90's. The 70's must be ALOT closer to the food court than the 90's. Also, did you have a car? If so, where did you park? I was told the 80's lot was the closest.

TIA! :teeth:

Let's see...
1. What was your check-in experience like?
2. How was the bus service?
3. Can you recommend any food court items?
4. Were there pin lanyards in the Pop giftshop?
5. Were there pin trading CMs at Pop?
6. What were vending machine prices like?
7. What items were sold from the vending machines?
8. Any pool experiences or observations?
9. Did the food court FOR SURE have microwave ovens?

I'm sure I'll think of more...:hyper:

Headed to Pop October 13th!

Make sure to specify which decade -- there are five "Building A's"... :)

Thanks Tyler!!

I requested the 70's, hopefully with a lake view. I'd heard that "B" doesn't have that view.

Can you answer my question about parking?

TIA

We will be arriving later in the day and wonder if there is such a thing as a 'bad' location - we don't actually mind a walk to the buses/foodcourt - our main priority is a non smoking room (told that this can't be guaranteed) and a high floor (hopefully so it's a bit quieter) - do you think we'll have any problems?

Okay,

Lets see.....

Tigger - we were on the back side of the building, right on the corner by the lake,6237,,it was nice and quiet!!! it was pretty close to the food court and pool which was really nice!!!! i do think parking would have been a pain staying in that building, we didnt have a car with us. the 90's is cool, but you are right, the walk would seem long!!!

SHarlag....
Let's see...
1. What was your check-in experience like? we had a very easy check in, but we arrived at midnight. the cast member was courteous, however we did not get our request of 50's or of a king sized bed (our room was no smoking though which was most important)
2. How was the bus service? it seemed like there was always a bus! never waited longer than 5-10 min from the resort..at MGM, the bus stop is soooo close to the exit!!! magic kingdom was a long walk to the bus stop, EPCOT was also long, animal kingdom wasnt too bad.
3. Can you recommend any food court items? i really liked the tie dyed cheese cake, peanut butter chocolate cake, pasta and sauce (loved the meat balls), hubbie loved the cheese steak wrap. other things were typical and average...prices for the milk, bread, pop tarts and stuff seemed really high ($1.99 for a quart of milk)
4. Were there pin lanyards in the Pop giftshop? lots of them!!! many different selections, however there were more in the shops in the parks or in the village.
5. Were there pin trading CMs at Pop? sure were!!!
6. What were vending machine prices like? i thknk it was $2.50/soda or juice, not sure of other prices
7. What items were sold from the vending machines? soda, juice, chips, snacks, candy
8. Any pool experiences or observations? all 3 pools were cool, flower pool was most crowded, but still plenty of room, water was chillier there,,,,bowling pin pool was really nice and much quieter, computer pool was almost empty,,,,but you should go look at all 3 areas, they are soo neat
9. Did the food court FOR SURE have microwave ovens? i definately saw at least 2 of them on the ends of the beverage islands, they also had large toasters.

pigby - we arrived at night and got a great location,,,,it was really quiet in our area

you guys will LOVE this place!!!

HI!

I am soooo excited. Just made our deposit yesterday. We will be going to POP 4/22/05 thru 4/30/2005. Requested 70's building for quiet area. I have a DS who is 4. Which section is the Goofy Water jet play area? We are so happy to hear such great reviews on POP.

Your son will LOVE the goofy area!!! it is located at the corner of where the 60'2 and 70's and food court building meet. there is a bench there for parents to sit at. It also looked like there were a few jet thingys in the kiddie pool at the 60's. there is also a real twister game in the 70's area that he might like to play!!!

You and Magalex brought back memories about our experience at DisneyWorld in 1981. Our parking lot area at Magic Kingdom was the "Goofy" section. DS and DD who were with us at the time laughed so hard when the tram driver told us to remember we were "Goofy."

Those kids are now 31 and 27 and still laugh at that memory.

Now I have a newer family of kids (11, 9 and 7) with whom I can enjoy the excitement. We won't be in the Goofy area at POP, but we'll be at Port Orleans Riverside for Christmas. Maybe if we drive to Magic Kingdom we'll get the Goofy section again!

WDW is truly a magical place.:goodvibes

I am sure this may have been asked in the FAQ thread but I must be blind :p

Anywho, do they have coffee makers in there??

Thanks for the good report. DW & I have ressies at POP Feb. 5-9.
