Let me preface this post by saying that we are normally a GF family and I was concerned about moving over to the POP for this visit. But we wanted to stay a week and I was paying for the whole trip myself, so POP it was.

We were so pleasantly surprised! We were in the 2 building of the 50's (50's are my favorite era so that was so great that we were there) back by the lake/parking lot. Loved the theming of the whole place. Everything was clean and well cared for (our room could've used a fresh coat of paint- but nothing bad. Just some scuffs on the walls). Beds were okay- way too small for us, but that is just cause they are doubles and we are king bed family. The bowling pin pool was super cool and the kids loved everything there. It was pretty quiet where we were. I did have to ask a woman on her cell phone on the walkway/balcony area speaking at 100 volume at 11:30pm to pipe down a bit (she did and was apologetic). The "nuclear" toilet flushing was very loud when you were awake, but once asleep I was never awakened by it.

The food court was crowded at "peak" times, but that's to be expected. I found the food to be really good and the selection excellent. We always found a table, even at the busiest times. Loved the EVERYTHING POP store- they had a great selection of Disney stuff and of toiletries too.

The buses were crowded but really frequent. And the resort was completely SOLD OUT (I know cause we tried to get a second room for any or all of our stay so we could spread out a little but they had nothing). We never waited for more than 15 minutes tops for a bus to or from any of the parks. People were very kind in giving up seats and I always sat with my littlest one on my lap. I was more impressed with the bus service at POP than in the past at GF.

My only complaint was that it was just so much further to the MK from the POP than from the GF. It's hard getting past that 5 minute monorail trip where you don't have to fold up the stroller!

We will definitely be staying at the POP again- hopefully soon. Any questions, please feel free to ask...

Happy to hear you enjoyed the resort!! It just shows that whether its a value or deluxe resort, it's the experience overall that matters!

This is what my DW and I have been saying all along. We can easily afford to stay at moderates and occasionally deluxes, but we love Pop so much, we don't want to stay anywhere else!

We are getting to the same point. Actually, with places like POP, it's hard not to stay there when you realize we could visit WDW 3-4 times for the cost of 1 stay at certain deluxe resorts! Hence our choice this year to visit twice! :goodvibes

wow this is a great post im staying at pop in october and was having second guesses about it but hearing that you guys all enjoy it so much and it sounds like a nice place to be around im feeling much better and can't wait for my holiday its gonna be so so so so so amazing hehe

thanks glad to hear you enjoyed it !! we are going to POP in August so this helps us too!

Glad you had a great time at my favoriate resort. I will be going back this August for my 4th year in a row. We stay for 11 days, so a deluxe is out of my budget. However, I just love Pop. It's colorful and lots of fun.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit! :thumbsup2

We're a Polynesian family but love staying at POP! We'll be there for three days before checking into the Poly for Christmas, and staying there for Easter next year.

Glad to hear you had a great trip! We are staying there in 15 days for the first time! Very excited...

We're going back this May for our 3rd stay @ POP.
It's a great value and wonderful resort.
We did EMH a.m @ MK and we drove our rental car and was very close to front row since it was so early.
The Pop is awesome.
We would like to stay at a Deluxe or a Moderate but cannot justify the cost when you are at the parks all day.
It's always been very clean and the people very nice.

I am always happy to hear that others have enjoyed POP. We are staying there for the second time in June, and there is always a little part of me that is afraid that it won't be as wonderful as I remember it.

I will be going for my 4th year in a row this August and so far, every trip was magical.

I'm new to this board and I'm going to be staying at the POP next month so this is a good report. I was worried about this because we are on a tight budget so we had no choice but to do a value resort. I'm really looking forward to the Disney experience. It's a lot to plan but I think we'll have a good time.

We are going back in May also, and like many of you we prefer the Pop. This will be our 4th stay and my family loves it. In fact as we were driving up to the Pop last March, my ds said,"I love this place"

He is telling me what to type now, ds loves the rooms, the hippy dippy pool and the gameroom. Of course at 6, as long as it has a pool ...

Pop Rocks!!!! :rockband:

Dd and I have stayed there for our last 3 visits and love it. I'm actually a little sad that the Land/Sea that we're doing in August doesn't do values :sad1: (we're at CBR). It was decorated very nicely when we were there this past Christmas! We've always stayed in the 70's buildings 6 and 10. We found this location very convenient.

I am so glad to hear good things about Pop Century! We will be there 3/26 thru 4/5. I grew up in the 70's and was a young adult/teen in the 80's, so this place looks like a kick in the pants. Can't wait!!!!
