We just returned from our vacation at the poly and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for your help. This was our first visit to WDW and it was unbelievable.we had a garden view and I requested Aoeteroa because of the recent remodeling. We were put in 3203 and it was wonderful. We could see the monorail go by,and in my opinion the garden views are excellent-the foliage is so lush.By the way it was cold while we were there (60's)and rainy for the first few days we did not wait longer then 15 minutes to get on any ride.I did not notice any smells in the room or the GCH.Everything was perfect!Ohanas' is the absolute best place to eat and great for the kids.Well thanks again. If you have any questions I would be happy to awnser. My only regret is that I am not there right now!!;)

ps. The mugs were at the poly, so I guess problem was solved, but you guys may already know that by now.

luvthemouse97,

Welcome home! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Poly. We will be trying it for the first time in early Jan. We were able to take advantage of a great AP rate and booked Lagoon View Conceirge. We have never tried Ohanas' either but are looking forward to it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. What are the ages of your kids and did they like the food? How was the transportation? Thanks again for posting. Any other details you can think of...please post. It's getting close for us and I love reading about all the happy experiences with the Poly:D

WDNut,

I have a regular lagoon view room booked and am thinking about upgrading to concierge. Would you mind telling me what your rate was? I have no idea what to expect. I have AKL concierge already booked for our trip, but wanted to Poly concierge. We are staying 9 nights and splitting our stay between AKL and Poly.

Thanks

wdwnut,

My Ds is 5, he did not like the food at ohanas so they brought him chicken strips and fries. While we were there they had 2 hula hoop contests and a coconut race,at the end of the coconut race they got a treat. He loved the activities and his chicken nuggets. The transportation was great. We rode the boat to MK and used the monorail to epcot, it was very quick with little wait. The most we waited for a bus to MGM and AK was 20 min.Usually the busses were there waiting.I'm not sure how old your kids are but we loved to sit on the hammocks while he played on the beach with the sand buckets, then watch the electrical water parade-It was so relaxing.Have a great time on your trip- you will have a blast!:)

lizzie64,

I called about 7:15 this am and was able to get the Poly Conceirge LV for $289.00 a night/ 322.24 including tax. I saved $697.70 by swithcing from the CR Tower Club to the Poly. We'll still be at the CR for the first part of our trip, but from Jan. 1st - 7th we're at the Poly.

I posted this the morning the AP rates were released. We saved almost $700.00 from our reservation at the CR and this was during Value Season:D I've always dreamed of staying at the CR and the Poly since I was little. Now both my dreams will come true. Hopefully you will get some great rates as well. I'll send some pixie dust your way ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

luvthemouse97,

Thanks so much for the quick reply. My DD's are 8 and 15. I know my 8 year old will love it. She's the picky eater of the family so it's good to hear there wasn't a problem getting fries and nuggets:D The pool looks so cool. Did you enjoy it? Did your DS go down the slide? My DD (8) has seen pictures but is a little apprehensive because part of the slide looks like it's closed in. I know she'll be fine once she there in person and has big sissy right behind her;) One of her favorite movies is Lilo and Stitch, she loves anything having to do with Hawaii. She's very excited. I've seen pictures of the hammocks on Tikiman's site and they do look inviting. Thanks again.

Were you able to swim in the volcano pool in spite of the cooler temperatures?

Did you do anything else at the Poly that you would recommend for families?

We leave in about 11 days and my kids are so excited!

TIA!

Judy
