Well, we returned on Saturday night from our stay at WDW. We were there for seven nights and managed to stay at 3 different resorts (not necessarily by choice).
I will try to keep this to just our Poly stay.
We checked into the Poly on Tuesday 5/10. My DH checked us in at 8:00 am, just so we could get most of the paper work done before our day at Epcot. Much to our surprise, our room was ready and they whisked my DH off in the golf cart. Not only to the Hawaii longhouse, but also to our car to pick up our luggage (we thought we would leave it in the car since the room probably wouldn't be ready).
We had made reservations for a Lagoon view, concierge room and I had requested the ground floor. I was so excited when we were given room 1511. This room was great!! We had a perfect, unobstructed view of the castle right from our patio. It was so nice to watch Wishes with my DH while my DS's slept. We also had some "ducky" visitors every morning who seem to make the rounds looking for food. My boys really got a kick out of that.
We really had some "magic" at the Poly. After we came back to the room our first day, balloons and an autographed picture of Belle and the Beast had been left in our room (we were celebrating our 10th anniversary). This was such a nice surprise. The next day, we recieved a nice little "thank you for staying here" note with a Poly chocolate bar. Again, a very nice surprise. On our last day, there was a special delivery for my boys. Each of them recieved a personalized, autographed picture of Mickey and a shell necklace. They also got another Poly chocolate bar. This may or may not be standard practice, but it really did make us feel that we were welcome.
The lounge was great. Morning offerings included pineapple bread, assorted danish, fruit salad, croissants, cereal, bagels, coffee, juice, milk, etc. You could also get bread for toast if you asked. They had jams, peanut butter, cream cheese. It was a pretty nice spread. Afternoons they had goldfish, nuts, pita bread w/hummus, fruit, pb&j's, gummi worms, m&m's. You could also get soda, milk, juice and beer. Evenings they usually had out two hot appetizers, veggies and dip, crackers and cheese, fruit, pb&j's, brownies, etc. Again, beer and wine were available. Late night they offered at least 6 different desserts and assorted cordials. Beer and Wine were available upon request. Chef Dick was there one night and his fruit creations were amazing. I wish I knew how to post the picture!
Anyway, sorry this is so long. If you have any questions, please ask. We had a great stay. The pool was a ton of fun for my boys. Mousekeeping was fine. The room was clean. No complaints here and I can't wait to go back.
