We just returned from our first stay at the Poly and totally enjoyed it!! The resort theming is great and very relaxing. My DS12 and DD8 loved the volcano pool. Can't beat monorail access. This was soooo convenient....especially when those late afternoon thunderstorms pop up. Had dinner at O'Hana's. The food was terrific. We ate breakfast at Kona Cafe. I just had to try the Tonga Toast all you Disers talk about. It was delicious!

We booked a lagoon view room and requested Tahiti 3rd floor. Not knowing the layout of the resort, I was a little worried if this location might be too out of the way. Thanks to Tikiman's advice I stuck with this request. We ended up in Tahiti first floor. We did have a musty smell that others have talked about when we went into the room. Called the front desk and they told us that due to the hurricane much of this longhouse got flooded. The CM were more than helpful. They did offer us a couple of other rooms but when we pulled back the curtain there was no way we could give up that view!!! They came and put some machine in our room for the day while we were at the park and when we returned the smell was gone. They had blowers going in the halls constantly trying to dry things out but after that first day our room didn't have that smell any more. The desk even called us the following day to see if we wanted to switch rooms because others had become available but we felt we were in the perfect location. The view from left to right was GF, castle, space mountain, CR, and the Magic Kingdom ferry, all with no obstructions. This longhouse is also a very convenient location. It's just a 2 minute walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot or the MK. It is a short walk to the Volcano pool or the GCH but we enjoyed the walk along the beach. We watched Wishes from our patio. One night we stayed to watch at the park but we could actually see the fireworks better from our room. If anyone is worried that you might be "to far out" don't be. The view is magical.
I would definitely stay at the Poly again. I'll answer any questions anyone may have.:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:::

Did you hear/see anything regarding installing refrigerators in the rooms? Rumor has it they'll be putting them in all moderate and deluxe resorts over the next weeks and months, but to date there's been no specifics about if/when they'll arrive in Poly rooms. We'll be there in early December and are still unsure whether they'll be there or not.

There has been talk on the boards about refrig. being put into all the mod and deluxe resorts. At the Poly last week I called the front desk to request a fridge. I was told that they were free of charge but were only available on a first come first serve basis. One was delivered to our room within a half hour. :D
