Hi all...We have been back now for 5 days and I can not get this to post..However, we had an absolutely wonderful time at Disney..the parks were not too crowded, it was very hot, but OK..

First, Pop..room was adquately sized, about the same size as ASMo, 5 years ago...mousekeeping was good, nothing special for the kids, bussing was very good except for an EMH at Epcot. Got to bus station at 11:20 and bus did not come until 12:10..there were honestly about 8 busloads of people waiting BEHIND us...food court was great..icee machines worked every time we were there...pools were very nicely themed but very crowded especially after park closings..water was too warm...store in Pop was Great. We felt hectic staying there...request 70's bldg first floor, got 50's bldg 4 floor...great view..too many steps...loved 50's location..room 3457...room WAS ready when we got there at 10:20 AM !!!

Second...Polynesian..LOVED IT LOVED IT STILL LOVING IT..room size was wonderful...bathroom stop not working...maintenance quickly fixed it...pools were wonderful...slide was great fun even for adults...pool bar REALLY fun...quiet pool was great too because it was so much deeper...mousekeeping was good, nothing special for the kids...the only thing to complain about was the dampness we felt in our room...a/c and fan was on full blast, but occasionally we felt like our sheets and clothes were damp...I was a little disappointed in new Boutiki store....when I am at Disney, I do not purchase Tommy Bahama clothing...we love Disney and Disney merchandise.. the Contemporary had the BEST stores..Captain Cooks was Great..my kids did miss the food court...go figure..we did eat at Ohana's character breakfast..food was good, but I think all character meals are overpriced..transportation was really good...one day we waited to be picked up at water park more than 20 minutes, though...CM's were very friendly, leis to us all at check in...we requested Tokelau, 1 st floor and got EXACTLY that...room 1934..great view (will post pictures later) room was ready when we got there at 2pm and luggage was also there..great service..

I hope this works this time, I have been trying to post since we got home...we tell more soon and post pictures...already missing Disney :guilty:

Welcome back, glad you enjoyed both resorts! :)

And this is the ONLY slight "problem" I had with Boutiki, too! I even posted about this last week. I was very, very disappointed due of the lack of Polynesian Resort logo merchandise. :confused3

Don't tell me they don't have a Poly cap, tee shirt, or sweatshirt????? I really wanted to pick up a few Poly souvenirs. What exactly do they stock? Thanks :)

So you used the Magical Express then? And your luggage arrived before you did? Headed to Poly on Wednesday! Hope it's not damp....

I loved Boutiki. Don't worry it had plenty of Disney and Polynesian Resort stuff. It actually had more Polynesian Resort stuff than I have ever seen before Boutiki.

Welcome home Dave and thanks for the report.

Aloha

Well this is good news then! :) When we were there in early July, there was not much at all with the Polynesian logo. A few women's white t-shirts (in only size small, I asked the CM at the register and he said they hadn't had much PR logo in stock for a while) with the Polynesian name in light blue, and not much else. I did buy a large ceramic mug with the PR logo on it, and a magnet with the words "Disney's Polynesian Resort" with Lilo & Stitch on it. There were NO sweatshirts at all with the PR name or logo on them while we were there.

There was a lot of "Disney World" logo merchandise but I can buy that stuff anywhere on property.

We'll be back to WDW in 2 months and dining at PR a couple of times, so I'm looking forward to being able to buy some PR t-shirts and sweatshirts at that time :)

Aloha!! Welcome back! Glad your post went through! Glad you enjoyed your time at both resorts. Thanks for your great trip review.

I felt the same way too about BouTiki store. I was at the Polynesian about 2 years ago and remember having more varieties and more selections, maybe cause there were about 4 stores then? I remember they used to sell fine jewelry and tons of clothes, but I can't remember if they were all Tommy Bahama. I have a plumeria white gold chain and I wanted to see if they have a white gold plumeria bracelet, but I didn't see it there. I guess I will have to wait till I get to Maui next year.

Were we all in the same store? :confused3 There was a whole section of just Polynesian logo clothes (T-shirts, tank tops, muscle shirts, a few different styles of lady’s pants and light jackets and tops…etc. Actually I did not even get to see it all. Than there was Disney Stuff and other items like the Tommy Bahama stuff. There was more than there ever was in the old News From Polynesia store. Well I guess I am in the minority of those who like it better.

Hi all..

I have to disagree with you Tikiman...there was hardly anything Poly logo'ed..I found one light cotton jacket (purple)..no t-shirts, no sweatshirts and no real jackets. My DS found 1 tank top but they only had smalls and XXL. We all LOVED the Poly and really wanted Poly logo'ed stuff and there was virtually nothing. I did ask the CM at the register and she said it is hit or miss with their stock. All of my family was disappointed because we would all have bought clothing merchandise. There was virtually no Disney merchandise there. Over half the store was Tommy Bahama and princess type of dressing clothing.

Now, all I have to do is learn how to post a picture...geez..it sounds so confusing.....

What a nice review! I stayed in room 3454 at Pop last month and thought it was an awesome location, better views than most 60's rooms, without the added cost. I used those steps many times and thought they were so convenient. Do you have any Pop pictures to share, I'd love to see them? :sunny:

Great pictures of both resorts, thanks for adding them! :flower:

Glad you loved the Polynesian. We do too.

I agree with Tikiman about Boutiki. I was pleasantly surprised as I was afraid it was going to be all princess and Disney themed merchandise. Instead there is a nice mix. There is still even some finer jewelry at the front of the store. There wasn't as much Polynesian merchandise when we were there but that always seems to fluctuate anyway.

I do miss being able to pick up a newspaper on the first floor. Years ago, Captain Cooks always had them as well as News from Civilization. And in May, I was told to go upstairs for stamps but then sent back down to Boutiki. :confused3 Hopefully that is worked out now.
